The Concept of Shownet at Interop Tokyo

I know it works because I saw it at Interop.

Quoted from http://interop.jp/2014/shownet/point.html and translated into English.

Above phrase was the catch phrase when the first Interop was held in Japan, back in 1994.

This sentence shows the basic concept of the Interop.

“I want to see that the networks are actually running with my eyes. If you come to the Interop Tokyo, you will see it.”

Nowadays, we can find various information on the web, even though, every attendees for Interop Tokyo enjoy the Shownet and can satisfy

their such strong demands.

Shownet is the name of the real network system which is built at the event hall, Makuhari Messe, and has below points.

1. The reality of the next generation networking

2. Tests of the technologies of the infrastructure, which will be mandatory for the future Internet infrastructure.

3. The real networks, not experimental

4. The World’s largest live demonstration

5. All of the equipment will be contributed by joining vendors
