used more efficiently 7oday an organi9ation is on the leading edge I have tried my best to peep
into the generic as !ell as real cumulative problems faced by the pioneer of ban#ing industry in4a#istan &everal chapters have been included in the report but they seem to be very
conventional in nature giving supplementary ?ustification to the fact that ABL is the most

$EAKNESSES
Eo entertainment facilities are available in the Ban# !hen customer goes to theBan# and !ait for a longer time 7hesefacilities can be the ne!spaper Maga9ines, etc
7he Branch has a good staff combination on the basis of e%perience, but their trainingcapabilities are not up to the requirements of the fast changing ban#ing environment
7he technical training of the staff is negligible eg in case of the absence of computer there is noalternate trained personal !ho can record the daily transactions
7he organi9ation is very much mechanistic and provides no fle%ibility to encourage creativity
7he organi9ational environment is not cooperative
In spite of the presence of technology many ?obs are done manually such as the letters, drafts for
fa% messages and other calculations, !hich could be easily, done in M& Word and Ms $%cel

OPPORT%NITIES
7he policies of the ne! government to uplift the economy and pursue financialsector reforms are e%pected to yield positive results in the ban#ing industry of the
country 7he ABL is very !ell praised to avail promising opportunities
As a result of the different steps ta#en by the Fovernment regarding the
bet te rment of the economy &mall borro!ers are at tr act ed to get the financ ing and
start small businesses &o, 7he ABL has an opportunity to attract the customers bygiving them attractive schemes
7hey have !ide area net!or# in all over the 4a#istan, if ABL can ma#e it possiblethe fast delivery of fund from abroad through online ban#ing, It can cover the
ma?or mar#et of 4a#istan !hich still is capturing by :*undi:
A considerable portion of the labor force of the area is serving overseas 7heir families can be
encouraged to use ABL as channel for remittances
7he Internet facility in the area provides an opportunity to ABL to get 1nline
7he Ban# has the basic infrastructure, !hich can facilitate the online process 7he location of the
ABL, Ashraf abad branch itself provides an opportunity to ABL to get more and less costdeposits

THREATS
6irst threat is that of political influence
7he biggest threat in the ban#ing sector is the continuous do!nfall of
thecountry economy since the last fe! years If this do!nfall remains formore fe! searsthen it may be the great barrier in achieving the Ban#:s ob?ectives
*igh;pressure interest groups are developing !hich poses a constant there at to Allied Ban#
7he biggest threat to the operational success of the branch is the better
Competitor"s services Many private sector ban#s are offering higher rates ofreturn to customers than Allied Ban# of 4a#istan
1ne of the biggest to the ABL, Ashrafabad branch is the increasing rate of dissatisfies customers
Most of these customers !ere observed to be dissatisfied !ith the delays in their servicing

$very matter has got some limitation &o this is also not an e%ception 7he limitations of this
internship report are been sated belo!J
@ue to time and cost restriction, the study is concentrated in selected areas 7o continue study in
such a vast are requires a big deal of time As an internee I had only three month !hich is not
enough
As a financial organi9ation a ban# has some restriction to serve all the real data of the ban# to the
general people as a result the study is mostly depends on official files and annual reports
Available data also could not be verified In most cases I simply did not have any option but tofurnish !ith data !ithout verification
ABL as a commercial ban# they are very busy and they could not able to give me enough time
for discussion about various topics

PROBLEMS?
While !or#ing at ABL 6aisal to!n branch, I have attained a ne!er #ind of e%perience After
collecting and analysis data I have got some problem of the ABL 7hese problems completely
from my personal vie!point, !hich is given belo!J
Lac# of update products is a dra!bac# of the general ban#ing area of the ALLI$@ Ban# Ee!
products such as student loan, medical loan, marriage loan are not available in ABL
6rom the clients vie! introducer is one of the problems to open an account It is general problem
to all commercial ban#
7hey face troubles !ith those clients !ho have not any #no!ledge in ban#ing transactions and
ban#ing rules
As the deposit is heart of running the ban#ing activities ALLI$@ Ban# @eposit gro!th not good
Because ALLI$@ Ban# deposit rate is lo! other than commercial ban# such as @ha#a Ban#,
4rime ban# Mercantile Ban#, *&BC Ban#, Ban# Asia etc
ABL has not recruited competent people to filling its lo!er and mid level position they recruit
only once a year 7his is really tough to recruit high s#illed employees
Lac# of proper training arrangement of employees

RE#OMMENDATIONS FOR THE OR4ANIATION
Wor#ing !ith Allied Ban# !as a lifetime e%perience for me because not only it has made me
able to step into my practical life but it also provided me !ith the e%posure of a multinational
organi9ation I have learnt a lot from my internship !ith Allied Ban# 7he overall !or#ing
e%perience, the !or#place environment, the help from the seniors and many more !as e%cellent
If anyone !ho see#s his career in the ban#ing sector in 4a#istan, probably Allied Ban# is the best
place he can find
While doing my internship training of 0 !ee#s in Allied Ban# of 4a#istan, I have analy9ed some
problem in the Ban# eeping in vie!s those problems follo!ings are my recommendationsJ
* 7he ban# has a lot of financing schemes but there are little advertisements of these schemes so
ABL should more advertise its schemes
(/ Most of the ban# employees are stic# to one seat only, !hich result that they become master of
one particular ?ob and lose their grip on other ban#ing operations &o, all employees should have
regular ?ob rotation
/ &ome of the talented employees should be sent to other countries for their advance trainings
9/ In bac# offices the employees are still depend on manual !or# !hich causes slo!
performance It should convert their system to an automated one
G/ ABL should promote the paperless ban#ing
+/ In some groups or !ings, approach to!ards employees is still bureaucratic, late promotion,
favoritism in appraisals and lac# of sufficient incentives are some problems arising
dissatisfaction so the employees should be promoted on fair policies to increase more satisfaction
among them
:/ ABL should introduce the Islamic products because it has the potential mar#et
114
7/23/2019 Internship Report Lcwu
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/internship-report-lcwu 116/125
/ When giving the loan, the Ban# must carefully analy9e the past si% month"s transaction history
of the borro!er 7his !ill help in ?udging the dealing behavior and financial status of the client
In most cases, this thing is not properly done and it is the ma?or reason of default of many
clients
8/ 7he Ban# should #eep the proper cheque on stoc# !hich is hypothecated A te%tile o!ner may
ret the loan on same )<,<<< bales of cotton from chec#ing system of the Ban#
*)/ 7he Ban# should try to give more loans to the small borro!ers as the past history sho!s that
most of the loans given to the corporate borro!ers have converted into bad debts
**/ When any one comes to operate the loc#ers, then the things !hich he #eeps in loc#er should
be chec#ed through metal detector for security purposes
*(/ All the Ban# Branches should be getting online to provide the quality and speedy services to
the customers and also remain competitive in the mar#et
*/ 7he circle of A7M machines should e%tend in all the ma?or cities of 4a#istan
*9/ With the internship letter should also be requested to provide us the financial reports
Because !hen !e demanded the financial reports they said that this is confidential And they are
not allo!ed to provide these statements to any trainee

#ON#L%SION
At present there is no such organi9ation in the !orld that is free from problems and challenges
$very concern has to strive and struggle a lot to be more profitable and to get more competitive
edge
7he management of ABL is ta#ing strategic steps to enable the ban# to emerge as a strong and
progressive institution It is continuing to ma#e efforts to refine its products and operations to
ma#e them more compatible Ee! deposit schemes have been introduced and an action plan to
maintain revenue gro!th in future
@uring my internship I have learned many ne! things in spite of the #no!ledge gained at
university and also came to conclusion that education alone is not enough, practical training in
every field is crucial to become a successful manager
7he ban# has great image due to the trust but it needs to use it effectively to increase mar#et
share Also the fla!s in branch operations such as misallocation of resources should be rectified
As the business and economic conditions remain uncertain, ABL continues to develop the ne!
products li#e it has been doing in past
@uring my internship training at ABL 8egency 4la9a Branch 6aisalabad I have learned a lot It
!as a geed e%perience for me In )((), the ABL became the first 4a#istan"s 4rivati9ed ban#
After privati9ation, the profitability and performance of the ban# has increased 7oday ABL
