TheDUInternisexpectedtohaveentry-levelknowledgeofcartographyandArcMap(v9xorv10).Specificediting

procedureswillbedemonstrated.Theinternwillnotberequestedtoperformanalysis.

Tasksareasfollows:

1. Editexistingfeatureclassestoupdatecontentbasedonaerialimagery,supportingcartographicdata,andwithguidancefromsubjectmatterexperts.

2. CreateArcMapDocuments(MXDs)forthepurposeofprintingstandardcountymaps.TheGIScontentandscaleforthestandardmapsareset.TheinternwillselectdatafromtheGIS

warehouse,applycartographicsymbology,label,andcreateothermapelements(e.g.

legend,title,scalebar).

3. CreatewebservicesofGISlayersusingArcMapMXDandMSDfiletypes.

POSITION

TimeFrame:Oct24,2011throughMarch/April2011(specificdatestobedetermined). Lengthofproject:estimated225-250hourstotal,16-20hoursperweek(preferablytwo8-to10-hourworkdays).Scheduleissomewhatflexible.

Payrate:$13.00perhour. Academiccredit:eligibleforthreecredithoursduringtheWinter2012quarter(optional). HiredandpaidbyDU/GeographyDepartmentasastudenthourly,bi-weekly,non-benefitedemployee.
