• Gain deep exposure to the opportunities and challenges faced by a Detroit-area social enterprise
• Develop skills and perspectives by acting as a “team member” of a social enterprise
• Receive mentorship, and help a social enterprise with a significant project
• Seminar sessions to discuss issues of practical and broader concern (once every 3 weeks)
• Earn 3 course credits (Winter Term) for successful completion (Course begins Fall-B)
OVERVIEW
IMPACT CORPS – ACADEMIC YEAR
• MBA-2 and Senior BBA students (graduating no earlier than May 2017)
• Commitment of 6-8 hours per week (~ 3 hours on site)• Program cycle (November 2016 – April 2017)• Complete an individual 6-month project for
partner organization

Formerly known as Domestic Corps; a leading nonprofit co-placement program amongst business school students.
Since its inception in 1993:• Nearly 400 students have participated in the program• 118 nonprofit agencies have received assistance from
our students

• Wide range of projects include:• Develop business strategies or strategic plans• Program creation, marketing and financial analyses• Social enterprise initiatives
• Hands-on, senior-level experience working with leaders within the organization• Board of directors, CEOs and executive directors• Influential partners and industry leaders

REQUIREMENTS• Open to BBA juniors, MBA1s, and Evening MBAs
(graduating no earlier than December 2017)• Ten week internships (MBAs are compensated $10,000
and BBAs are compensated $6,000 for the 10 weeks + travel for placements outside Michigan)
• Recommended start/end date (negotiable)May 15 – July 14, 2017

Financial support to graduate students & BBA Jrs. who find their own management-related summer internship in social impact or for those designing their own summer experience.
• Helps defray costs associated with internships, including those that are unpaid or with a limited stipend
• Placements include organizations anywhere in the U.S. or abroad (special emphasis in Detroit)
• Funding partnerships with student-led Ross Give-A-Day Fund as well as Ford School of Public Policy
• Overall program supports 20-30 interns annually
OVERVIEW
THE SUMMER FUND
• Management-related summer internship in social impact that students are responsible for finding on their own
• Organizations can be a nonprofit, government, or clearly-defined social enterprise
• Requires the completion of an approved project deliverable to benefit the organization
• Eligible internships do not include: • Courses or field placements• Part-time activities• Projects undertaken for course credit
INTERNSHIP SUPPORT OVERVIEW
THE SUMMER FUND
• Open to BBA juniors, MBA1s, Evening MBAs, and MPPs (graduating no earlier than December 2017)
• Full-time internships for the summer of 2017, with a minimum 10-week engagement
• Total combined funding/salary (including any Center funding) must not exceed $12,000
• Deadline: April 14,2017• Average Center Funding per internship: $2,000
• The Center’s stipend may offer significant tax savings
