Internet Bill of Lading – Quick Reference Guide (QRG)

Dashboard View

The Bill of Lading function can be accessed by clicking Manage and then Bill Of Lading as shown below.

Create a Pattern (you must create billing patterns before you are able to create billing)

Use the Create a Pattern button to create billing patterns.

Enter all the pattern information

Enter information in the pattern screen:

Shipper

Consignee

Bill to Party

Route

Commodity

Once you have entered in all the information, save your pattern by clicking the save button at the bottom of the screen.

Once you select save, iBOL will generate a pattern ID.

Create New Billing

Select Create New Bill under Bill of Lading. This will populate your patterns.

Pattern Selection Screen

This will display all of your saved billing patterns. You will need to selection an option under the Action Column next to the pattern

that you are using. Note there are four options/icons displayed.

o Edit Pattern

o Delete Pattern

o Clone Pattern

o Create a bill from Pattern

Click on the + to create a new bill. Enter the specific railcar information in the Bill Setup section. You can click on each section on the top of the page to add or change information for the shipment.

To submit the billing, click on the Review section at the top of the page. Note, if information is missing, that section will high light as RED. Go back to that section and complete the information, then click review again.

Once all the necessary information is filled out, click on the review section. If the review section icon is green, you can then submit the billing.

Click ‘Submit Instructions’.

Once the billing is successfully submitted, you have the option of viewing ‘Created Bills’ or ‘Create New Bill’ or Print.

To view the created bills, click on ‘Created Bills’.

From the ‘Created Bills’ screen you can:

Select one or multiple bills to Email or Print.

Email Options:

You can email yourself or others, the bill of lading, EDI of the BOL (404), or a copy of the waybill.

Print Options:

You can print the Bill of Lading, EDI of the BOL (404), Waybill, or Shipment Instructions.

Edit/Clone/Delete Patterns

Patterns can be edited, cloned, and deleted. ** These are all new to the NG iBOL.

Go to create a bill to bring up the pattern selection screen.

To edit a pattern, select the pen icon under the actions column that is on the same row as the pattern to be edited. This will open the

pattern. You can make your changes and save.

To Clone a pattern select the double page icon. Use this if you want to create a new pattern off of an existing pattern. You change

any fields, and it will save as a new pattern.

Delete a Pattern. Users have the capability of deleting patterns that are no longer needed. To delete a pattern, select the trash can

icon in the action column on the same row as the pattern.

Next confirm the delete.

Dashboard:

If you use iBOL often, it is recommend to save iBOL to your dashboard. From your dashboard, you can Create a Pattern, Create a

New Bill, see how many patterns you have remaining before reaching the limit, and see Waybill Status.

Adding iBOL to Dashboard

Click on the arrow next to the person icon.

Select Dashboard Layout

Drag the Bill Of Lading to the Dashboard Layout section and select save.
