Travel Request AMy 17-year-old son was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone
cancer) 18 months ago. He has been offered to have a wish fulfilled by the Make-a-Wish Foundation and wants to go on the trip of a lifetime. It would be a family trip, with myself, hubby, three boys
(ages 17, 18 and 20), as well as my 17-year-old's girlfriend. We want something that has it all... adventure, culture, great food, and
beautiful beaches with all the water sports/activities that go along with it. He wants to be able to explore the people and cultures and foods of something totally different from what he's used to. We are originally from the southern U.S., on the Gulf of Mexico, but living in Alberta Canada on the Rocky Mountains now. I don't know if we will
ever be able to vacation as a family again, and I want to make certain this will be the best time of his life... of our lives. Thanks for
your help!

Travel Request BMy husband and myself (we are both in our early 50's ) have planned to take a year or two off and travel the world. Neither of us are seasoned travellers. We live in Sydney and ideally want to travel staying in each continent for a couple of months and visit countries/places by land. We want to go to the less traversed places and visit the cities only for some spectacular sight seeing, not otherwise. Countryside is what we are looking at.
Has any one started out of Sydney travelling the world ? Has any one travelled the less trodden paths around the world on a budget travel or home stay sort of accommodation plan ? Do you think a couple could do it within US $3000 a month ?
I would be ever so thankful for any tips and advice coming from other travellers.
