The awardees are 103 year old athlete Mann Kaur, Indian Air Force’s first women fighter pilots Ms Mohana Singh, Ms Bhawana Kanth and Ms Avani Chaturvedi, Farmers Ms Padala Bhudevi and Ms Bina Devi, Artisan Ms Arifa Jaan, Environmentalist Ms Chami Murmu, Entrepreneur Ms Nilza Wangmo, Automotive 15 outstanding women honoured with Nari Shakti Puraskar by President on International Women's Day research professional Ms Rashmi Urdhwardeshe, Lady Mason Ms Kalavati Devi, Twin Mountaineers Ms Tashi and Ms Nungshi Malik, classical vocalist Ms Kaushiki Chakroborty and 98 year old Ms Karthyayini Amma who topped the literacy exam in 2018. Another awardee 105 year old Bhageerathi Amma could not travel to Delhi to recieve the award. The National Award is given annually to individuals, groups, institutions in recognition of their exceptional work towards the cause of women empowerment, especially for vulnerable and marginalized women. He will be the chief guest of the programme organized by EZCC at Port Blair in the evening of March 9, 2020. During his stay here, the Governor will also visit various places of tourist interest and historical importance in the Islands. On completion of his visit, the West Bengal Governor is scheduled to depart for Kolkata on March 12, 2020, an official communication said here.
