BackgroundPrior to WTSA-08 the TSB organized a preparatory meeting in Brasilia, aimed at coordinating Americas Region views on issues considered to be of importance to the region.

The contributions from Americas Region were highly considered
9 of the 10 amendments to resolutions 17, 20, 32, 43, 44, 45,49, 50, 54,55 were approved
New very important Resolutions were decided: climate change, accessibility, universities, SMEs
Proposal of the Flagship Group in Mexico is a program of the revised Res. 44

WTSA-08 OutcomesWTSA-08 revised some existing resolutions, adopted new ones and suppressed others in support of developing countries.
It is worth noting resolutions 44, 54,59,71, 72 serve as catalyst for bridging the digital divide.
