The financial center of Bohemia until the silver ore ran out, Kutna Hora once rivaled Prague‘s magnificence. The site of Wenceslas II‘s Royal Mint in 1308, the town was added to UNESCO‘s World Heritage list in 1996. Saint Barbara‘s cathedral and the eerie Kostnice bone church, decorated with disconcerting sculptures of the bones of plague victims, are main attractions.
