University Immersion Program international certificates Optional Practical Training DESCRIPTION Through the University Immersion Program, international students may enroll in UCSB academic and/or professional development courses in a wide variety of disciplines. This program offers an excellent way to experience university life in the U.S. Students also have the opportunity to participate in a classroom environment with distinguished faculty and top-achieving students, and to gain knowledge necessary for success in the global workforce. The credits earned may be transferred to universities around the world or used to complement students’ professional and academic goals. Academic Study Professional Study DESCRIPTION A Professional Certificate from UCSB’s Division of Professional and Continuing Education signifies successful completion of in- depth study in a specific professional field. These professional certificates provide students with in-depth, practical, and career-focused skills, and give them the competitive edge in the global workplace. Taught by career professionals and experts in their fields, students will gain invaluable insights into US-American professional life and work culture. Business Leadership Business Communication & Law Marketing Project Management Technology Management Web Development Leadership and Advocacy Environmental Management DESCRIPTION The Optional Practical Training (OPT) gives students the opportunity to work anywhere in the US in a field directly related to their major subject of study, for up to 12 months on an F-1 visa after completion of a 3-quarter (9 months) stay at an accredited university or college, such as UCSB.
