MRSyllabus_E0211.v1 INTERNATIONAL MSc IN FINANCE Ethics and CFA Standards February 2015 / June 2015 Instructor(s): Manuel Leite Monteiro, PhD Ulugbek Suyumov, CFA __________________________________________________________________________________ Course Description : This course will support the hard work of the preparation for the CFA Exam. This course will discuss in detail Ethics issues in Finance and it will consolidate the CFA exam preparation concerning subjects that you have already studied in your MSc. You should prepare in advance all the subjects that will be discussed in each session and be prepared to take a Quiz at the beginning of each session. The Quiz will be based on typical CFA Exam questions and will allow to: 1. Identify areas where the students need more help and review during the class, while saving the time by not covering topics that have already been mastered by all class participants; 2. Replicate the real examination setting, where students will have 2 minutes per question. Continuous practice will make CFA candidates build confidence for exam day. Each session starts with a quiz on the topics of the session. The materials for each session are extremely extensive so it is crucial that you prepare them well in advance. You have already a good understanding of most of the topics, requiring mainly a proper organization of your previous knowledge, which is still a challenging effort requiring great consistency and persistence. The quiz will give you an idea of how well prepared you are on that topic. The sessions will be very interactive, focused on your questions and on the issues that can be more difficult or less familiar. The professors will not be presenting new material, but instead they will clarify your questions and help you to organize your knowledge. At the end of the course there will be a mock exam covering the material studied in the course, and replicating in part the conditions of the CFA exam. All the questions of the weekly quizzes and final exam are CFA type questions. __________________________________________________________________________________
