the Computer Science and Engineering, and is devoted to the scope of present Software

issues, from theoretical aspects to application-dependent studies and the validation of

emerging technologies.

This new journal was planned and established to represent the growing needs of International Journal of

Software Computing and Testing as an emerging and increasingly vital field, now widely recognized as an

integral part of scientific and technical investigations. Its mission is to become a voice of the Computer

Science and Engineering community, addressing researchers and practitioners in this area.

System Testing for the Automation of the Automobile Workshop

in Automobile Industry

ABSTRACT Here, the system testing involved is the most widely used testing process consisting of five stages. In general, the sequence of testing activities is component testing, integration testing, and then user testing. However, as defects are discovered at any one stage, they require program modifications to correct them and this may require other stages in the testing process to be repeated. Detecting of errors is called testing. For quality assurance and for ensuring the reliability of the software, Testing performs a very critical role. The results which we obtain from testing are used later on during for maintenance also. A small error can conceivably explode into a much larger problem. Thus in this phase we went to test the code we wrote. We needed to know if the code compiled with the design or not? Whether the code gave the desired outputs on given inputs. These basic steps of testing have been picked from software engineering practices. The following are the steps, we undertook:[1–3] To resolve the content errors the

content of the Intranet site is reviewed. Content errors can be the typographical errors, content consistency, grammatical errors, graphical

representation, cross-referencing errors, etc.

The design model of the web application is reviewed to uncover the navigation errors. Use cases, derived as a part of the analysis activity allows a web designer to exercise each usage scenario against the architectural and navigational design. In essence these non-executable tests help to uncover the errors in navigation.

When web applications are considered the concept of unit changes. Each web page encapsulates content navigation links, content and processing elements (Forms, code as in our case). It is not always possible to test each of these individually.

The Assembled web application is

tested for overall functionality and content delivery. The various user cases are used that test the system for errors and mistakes.




System Analysis and Design for Software and Tools Used for

Village Information System Management Through Web-Based

INTRODUCTION

Preliminary Investigation Preliminary studies are the most important phase of system analysis. It is the process of survey, gathering and interpreting facts, diagnosing problems and using the information to recommend improvement of the system. During preliminary investigation of the project “Village Information system” various surveys and studies were carried out through DISNIC-PLAN project of planning commission and through internet. Feasibility Study

Feasibility study is conducted once the problem is clearly understood. Feasibility study is a high level capsule version of the entire system analysis and design process. The objective is to determine quickly at a minimum expense how to solve a problem. The purpose of feasibility is not to solve the problem but to determine if the problem is worth solving with available resources. The three aspects to be considered for feasibility study are[1]: (1) Technical Feasibility: The propose

system aims to provide remote updating between district headquarters

and the Head center. The Head center and some district offices have already installed computer system and remaining district centers have planned to install in near future. The Head office has employees who have capture to computer knowledge, and there will be no problem in operating the system. But at district levels, the training for the operating system will be required initially. Once trained, the employees will find easy in operating and know the benefits of the system. Hence the system is technically feasible.

(2) Economic Feasibility: In this aspect, the proposed system is determined whether there are sufficient benefits in creating the system to make cost acceptable. The Head center and most of district offices have already installed computer system and thus there will be least investment for implementing the project. But this system will help the department in online data, compilation of reports and also to monitor the implementation of VIS. Thus the benefits expected from this system is much more compare to the cost

Library automation refers to use of computers, associated peripheral media such as magnetic tapes, disks, optical media, etc. and utilization of computer based products and services in the performance of all type of library functions and operations. Computers are capable of introducing a great degree of automation in operations, functions since they are electronic, programmable and are capable to control over the processes being performed.[1,2] The utilization of computer and related techniques make the provision to provide the right information to right reader at the right time in a right form in a right personal way. Automation of library activities provides the services very efficiently, rapidly, effectively, adequately and economically. The modem libraries and information a center facilitates free communication because access to information has become a fundamental right of the clientele. The automation is economically feasible and technologically required in modem

libraries to cope up with the requirements of new knowledge, the enormous increase in the collection of materials, problems of their acquisition, storage, processing, dissemination and transmission of information. The capabilities of computer associated peripheral media and its application in library activities and services led to a highly significant quantitative and qualitative improvement especially in online technology.[3] Information/knowledge itself is of no value. It is the use of information that makes it valuable. This is our and users key to a more success, more happiness in ours mission. INTRODUCTION To offer the complete satisfaction of users and perform the above mentioned library activities and functions, we must select a competent and suitable software which can meet out our requirements or can be developed on contracted basis by any software company or can be developed by professional of the institution keeping in view the requirements of the library. An increasing numbers of library software companies and their attractive advertisements / propaganda's confused the libraries which software is very much meet with their needs.[1–3] Libraries and information centers must keep in mind some basic aspects before selection of library software. A library automation committee is to be constituted which includes library and computer software/ hardware experts. Prepare a list of the library's areas, activities, services and functions which are to be automated. A profile of the library software's is to be made.

Consult with the same organization/ libraries about software and their functions, which are already, automated their services. The experiences of the other librarian who have used software are more valuable than the assurances of the manufactures. Let the vendors demonstrate their product. Library and computer software experts should prepare an observation report of library and software facts, which meet or how much meet or do not meet our requirements and submit it to the chairman library automation committee. Consider the services after installation, but de not believes on unjustifiable assurance, made by companies’ representatives and make agreement of all fact.
