• 2014 is the 20th Anniversary of the UN Intl. Year of the Family

• Greek Presidency conference on women’s participation on the labour market (end of April)

• European Employers’ Forum in Helsinki (8-9 September)

• Italian Presidency event on a sustainable care system, Rome, 4th November

• 2014 Alliance • Key outcomes: European Reconciliation Package and EP Intergroup

New Leave policy position

• Very heated discussion – not anticipated

• Inspired by the EU maternity leave directive – which is now shelved

• Looking at Scandinavian models (non-transferable parts for the father and mother, and one portion to be shared
