University of Wyoming and Pforzheim University MBA students spend a week touring Switzerland-based companies as part of a collaborative ‘International Experience’. Prior to departure, students from both universities research each company they would visit, doing an analysis of their business model and key success factors for the company as well as an assessment of opportunities and threats in their macro- and competitive environments via Skype and emails.

In addition, this project serves to acquire and apply social and cross-cultural competences in multicultural groups. The students earn a new appreciation of international business through first-hand experience and an insider’s view into the business world.

University of Wyoming - College of Business

The College of Business was founded in 1899 as the University of Wyoming School of Commerce and Industry. While the Business programs offered have changed over the years, the college remains firmly committed to a tradition of excellence.

The College of Business is home to over 1,300 students, including undergraduates and graduate students.

The College of Business has three academic departments: Accounting, Economics and Finance, and Management and Marketing. The college also houses the Johnson Career Center, Student Internship Program, and Online Business Programs Office, which are instrumental in maintaining the college's link with the business world.

The College of Business offers majors in Accounting, Business Administration (online), Economics, Finance, Management, and Marketing. We also offer minors in all of these areas, as well as in Banking and Financial Services, Decision Science, Entrepreneurship, International Business and Marketing Communications.

UW's graduate-level business programs include Master's degrees in Accounting, Economics, Finance, and an M.B.A., as well as a Ph.D. in Economics and in Marketing.

The University of Wyoming's College of Business is one of only 396 business schools in North America (out of more than 1,300 business schools) accredited by AACSB International. AACSB International's accreditation assures quality and promotes excellence and continuous improvement in undergraduate and graduate education for business administration.

Philosophy

Promoting excellence, scholarship and progress, the College of Business is dedicated to fulfilling and exceeding the mission of the University of Wyoming. It strives to do so by promoting excellence in teaching, internationally recognized intellectual contributions, integration of teaching with scholarship, and service that has tangible impacts on the state and professional community.
