Introduction – What is ICTS?

• ICTS is charter organization under International Foundation for Telemetering

• Purpose is to facilitate exchange of information between members

• Charter prohibits lobbying to further positions of ICTS

The WRC process

• Agenda items for next WRC approved at preceding WRC

– WRC-07 AI 1.5 approved at WRC-03

• Nations interested in particular agenda item participate in appropriate ITU-R Working Party meetings

– Outcome is technical consensus documented in CPM Report

• Ambassadors meet at WRC to decide

Role of ICTS Until Now

• Educate ourselves about process

– Learn WRC process, how to work with national spectrum authorities

• Outreach teams inform TM professionals about AI 1.5, national spectrum authorities about importance of telemetry

• Provide information, points of contact

• Participate in ITU-R WP 8-B

Role of ICTS Through End of Conference

• Continue outreach visits

– New contacts, reinforce existing contacts

• Participate in remaining WP 8-B meeting and CPM

• Operate ICTS exhibition booth during WRC to inform delegates about AI 1.5

WILL NOT LOBBY FOR PARTICULAR OUTCOME

Summary

• ICTS is information sharing organization under IFT

• ICTS has successfully brought together key spectrum

authorities and telemetry leaders

• ICTS will continue to inform decision makers about

importance of telemetry TO ALL NATIONS

ICTS SEEKS ONLY TO INFORM, NOT TO DEMAND A PARTICULAR OUTCOME
