INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE (Inter-disciplinary/Multi-disciplinary) Daulat Ram College, University of Delhi Indian Council of Philosophical Research & P.A. Sangma Foundation Conference Hall Daulat Ram College 4 Patel Marg, Maurice Nagar University of Delhi Delhi-110007 India on under IQAC in collaboration with on Venue North East India, comprising the eight states of Arunachal, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura, is blessed with a plethora of gifts - scenic landscapes, rich history, divinity, philosophy, cultural diversity, vibrant art and literature. It is connected to the rest of India by a narrow land corridor, Siliguri Corridor in West Bengal with a width ranging from 17 km (narrowest) to 60 km. Due to this poor connectivity there is lack of accessibility from all quarters. Despite the contrary belief that development in North East India is stunted because of its strategic geographical location, there is a large potential for development and growth with proper channelizing of available resources. For the development of the North East region, investment in physical and social infrastructure is necessary. In order to attract investment, there is a need for promotion of this region as a potential hub of economic activity. Tourism can be promoted as one of the major potentials for social and economic growth of this region. Two days International Conference has been scheduled with an interdisciplinary/ multidisciplinary approach to provide an academic platform to theoreticians and practitioners belonging to various disciplines to discuss, promote, propagate and exchange ideas and to bring out the mysteries of how to tap the untapped North Eastern States in the larger public domain. This conference would be a great learning experience across all disciplines. Through this conference we are taking up the challenge to promote and build a closer relationship between theory and practice, often with the goal of creating awareness about the true essence of North East India.
