International Business Machines Corporation (commonly referred to as IBM) is
an American multinational technology and consulting corporation, with corporate
headquarters in Armonk, New York. IBM manufactures and markets computer hardware,
middleware and software and offers infrastructure and consulting services in areas ranging
from mainframe computers to nanotechnology.
The company originated in 1911 as the computing tabulating recording company (CTR)
through the consolidation of the tabulating machine company, the international time
recording company, the Computing Scale Company and the Bundy manufacturing
company. CTR was renamed "International Business Machines" in 1924, a name
which Thomas j. Watson first used for a CTR Canadian subsidiary. In 1949, Watson created
IBM World Trade Corporation, a subsidiary of IBM focused on foreign operations. Securities
analysts nicknamed the company Big Blue for its size and common use of the color in
products, packaging and its logo.
It is a public type company traded as NYSE:IBM Dow Jones Industrial Average
Component S&P 500 Component.

Uniform practices for collecting, using, disclosing, storing, accessing, transferring or otherwise processing such information assists IBM to process personal information fairly and appropriately, disclosing it and/or transferring it only under appropriate circumstances.
This policy letter sets forth the general principles that underlie IBM's specific practices for collecting, using, disclosing, storing, accessing, transferring or otherwise processing personal information. These general principles apply to the processing of personal information worldwide by IBM.
The general principles are:
Fairness: IBM will collect and process personal information fairly and lawfully;
Purpose: IBM will collect only personal information that is relevant to and necessary for a particular purpose(s) and process personal information in a manner that is not incompatible with the purpose(s) for which it is collected.
Accuracy: IBM will keep personal information as accurate, complete and up-to-date as is necessary for the purpose for which it is processed.
Disclosure: IBM will make personal information available inside or outside IBM only in appropriate circumstances.
Security: IBM will implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to safeguard personal information and instruct third parties processing personal information on behalf of IBM, if any, to process it only in a manner that is consistent with processing

it on IBM's behalf, and to implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to safeguard the personal information.
Access: IBM will provide individuals with appropriate access to personal information about them.
Antiboycott:-
IBM, its subsidiaries and affiliates, and their agents are prohibited from following or
supporting a foreign country’s boycott of a country which is friendly to the United States. A
foreign country or an entity associated with the country could make such a request in a bid
invitation, purchase order or contract, letter of credit, orally in connection with a transaction,
or in a number of other ways. IBM is required to promptly report to the U.S. Government any
request to support a boycott or to furnish information regarding a boycott. Examples of
improper boycott requests include requests that we refuse to do business with a certain
country, its citizens, or with certain companies who do business with the boycotted country.
A request that we provide information about activities in a boycotted country, implement
letters of credit with boycott conditions, or issue negative certifications of origin, also require
legal scrutiny. If you hear of or receive boycott-related requests, you must contact your
manager, IBM Counsel or the Export Regulation Office.
