Webquest Lanzarote quiz elaborated by Sergio Pérez Tabares, aimed at 3 rd level of ESO Lanzarote quiz show 1) Introduction: We always talk about our land, the Canary Islands, but we actually know very little about their history and traditions. Along with the Canary cuisine, there are also celebrations and typical customs that we have almost forgotten or we have never been told about. Here, we will have the opportunity to learn a bit more about them, and to understand the weight and importance of our past and our people in order to value our present and make our future. We will centre on Lanzarote so that we can catch a glimpse of its cultural richness. 2) Task Canarias television Inc. has announced that next month there will be a TV quiz show about Lanzarote. This quiz will be carried out in high schools around the Canary Islands. - Then, we must get ready for the event so that we should prepare mock questions, investigate and gather all the necessary information. - In order to prepare everything right, there will be a simulation of the program in our school. - Don’t forget to investigate on the folklore, gastronomy, festivals, peoples, transport, villages and towns, customs and celebrations of Lanzarote. - There must exist physical evidence of the project. In this sense, every group is going to prepare a PowerPoint document they will explain to the big group with the diary of the project, and its development: presentation with the questions, interviews, search of information, etc. - As to make it real, one person of the group will choose another student of the class and will simulate the quiz in live, in the classroom. It will be necessary to make a group of four people. There are four roles. You must choose one of these: - A techie: a person in charge of searching in the Net for all documents relating to traditions in Lanzarote, both in the past and in the present times. He will also contrast all the information gathered. This person will be also in charge of making interviews to the necessary people (parents, neighbours, relatives, etc.) about the different traditions, customs and celebration in Lanzarote. - An editor: this person will be in charge of editing all the information as well as all the aspects regarding the presentation of this project (format, pictures, texts, videos, etc.) - A translator: this person will be in charge of translating the interviews or the information gathered in the Net. Together with the editor, this person must focus on the language, correcting grammar, spelling, and all aspects relating to the aspect and content of the final project. - A TV presenter: this person will carry out the questions and will make it as real as possible.
