education scenario. Students and teachers routinely collaborate, build and share knowledge using

digital technologies - blogs, 111e sharing, social networking, and EDU sat conferencing. Students

and teachers are able to innovate in their use of ICT to achieve learning outcomes

The institutional Assessment and Audit committee regularly monitors with evidence and proper guidance on enhancing the quality of teaching and student performance. Regular interaction of such meetings are conducted at the departmental level so as to have a better rapport with the parents and other stakeholders.

HUMAN RIGHT'S DAY Women's rights comes under Human Rights and since halfofthe population is made up of women it was decided to co-host the 'HUMAN RIGHTS DAY' celebration by Human Rights Cell and Women Empowerment Cell on 9111 Dec.,201 4 at P.G. Conference Hall , GSC, CIA..

Compering was done by Dr. Jyoti. S. Uppar who ushered the positivism into the program and highlighted the importance of the HUinan Rights and the need to celebrate the day, the violations happening at the local, national and the international level on a daily basis. The students escorted the Principal, Prof C.M. Vivekananda, the Chief-Guest and Invited Speaker Dr. Nataraj . Asso. Profesor, HOD of Criminology, Government Arts College, Chitradurga, IQAC Co-ordinator Prof. K.K. Kamani, Human Rights Cell Co-ordinator Dr. Ramesh Ratageri, Asso. Prof, Dept. of Botany, Govt. Science College, Chitradurga, Prof. T.V. Sanamma, HOD ofPhysics, Asso. Prof., Dept. of Botany, Govt. Science College, Chitradurga and Women Empowerment Cell Co­ordinator Dr. Jyoti. S . Uppar, Asso. The program commenced with a prayer by Miss. Shruti, M.Sc. Botany, Ill Sem. followed by Nadageethe by Miss. Shruti and Miss. Meghana, M.Sc. Botany, III Sem who lead the gathering.

Dr. Ramesh Ratageri while welcoming everybody, in his introductory talk informed about the the importance of 'HUMAN RIGHTS DAY' celebrations on any day from Dec. 1-10. He also gave the various websites HUMAN RIGHTS for any further information.

Dr. Jyoti. S . Uppar, Women Empowerment Cell Co-ordinator introduced the Chief-Guest and Invited Speaker Dr. Nataraj. Asso. Profesor, HOD of Criminology, Government Arts College, Chitradurga, to the audience. Dr. Nataraj , apart from having 28 years ofteaching experience has received 2 National awards in Criminology, had a Rotary International Fellowsh ip of 2 Months in Belgium, had a UGC visiting Associateship to study Human Rights Violation of Karnataka Prisons, and is the State Resource Person in Juvenile justice and Womens Rights.

Dr. Nataraj delivered a talk on 'Prevention of Hurnan Rights Violation and Compensation'. He dealt with several issues like the delay in rendering justice by the Traditional Judicial System, the setting up of Special Courts, the district Judge dealing with HR cases, setting up ofHR cell at all the govt. institutes, the method to lodge a complaint directly or anonymously, oral registration of the compliants at the toll -free no. 24/7 etc. He also gave several examples wherein rape is used as a weapon for suppress ing a whole community/caste apart from other pervert behaviour. Amongst the human rights it is more of women rights that are violated and more crime against them. He mentioned the Badaun rape case of the two girl s as also the Nirbhaya case, the Justice Verma Report and the amendment in the constitution brought therein. He coaxed the students to not tolerate but tackle the f-IR violations without any fear. He told the students about the Gu labi Gang in U .P. and its activities

There was an interactive session wherein several student especially girls who wanted to know about the lodging of the compLiant and the time within which the justice would be delivered. Dr. Jyoti while announcing the setting up of similar group urged the need to be soft and :f-eminine in talk and attitude yet be proactive, alert and aware, aggressive, responsive to the injustice faced by women in our own vicinity and lend a helping hand when necessary.

Prof K.K.Kamani, stressed on the role of each person in reducing the HR violations and be alert and active w.r.t theirs and others rights.

Prof. C.M. Vivekananda, Principal, GSC, CTA in his presidential address expressed his confidence in the students to become watch dogs of HR violations. He was pleased with the interaction and asked the students to actively participate in various programs and derive the maximum benetit from the resource persons knowledge. He prevailed upon them to share this knowledge and spread awareness to their family and neighbours.

The program concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Prot~ K.K.Kamani.
