Risk Enhanced Multi-Asset Portfolios (REMAP)

At Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management we recognise that reducing the risk to your invested capital is the cornerstone of a complete investment strategy. That’s why we developed REMAP, our optimised process behind these portfolios aims to insulate the core of your client’s investments from dramatic market highs and lows.

Our proprietary volatility led process is only available from Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management. The REMAP portfolios adjust to achieve a client’s investment objectives while endeavouring to cap risk, and therefore reduce the magnitude of loss, at the risk level suited to their investment objective.

The rigorous process underpinning REMAP has been recognised as a best-in-class investing discipline. Our successful investment strategy received the Gold Standard Award for Discretionary Portfolio Management in 2012 and 2013, as well as a five-star rating by independent research firm Defaqto.

Our REMAP Portfolios are a unique investment solution, providing a powerful tool for managing volatility and risk which can complement any wealth strategy.

Discretionary Portfolio Management

We offer a Discretionary Portfolio Management Service where we will build and run a personalised portfolio on your clients’ behalf.

You will have a dedicated portfolio manager, who is committed to fulfilling your clients’ investment needs in line with their stated risk profiles, investment objectives and their personal circumstances.

The discretionary portfolios invest in individual stocks and bonds and other alternative asset classes. They also invest in third party investment funds for added diversification and access to the world’s best managers.

One of our key differentiators is the risk driven nature of our investment approach. We understand the need to determine an investor’s objectives and recognise that managing a portfolio in line with the risk objective as the primary goal, not chasing short term returns, is of paramount importance.

Managed Portfolio Service

Our Managed Portfolio Service (MPS) provides a range of risk-rated discretionary portfolios for clients who do not require a tailored portfolio. For a recommended minimum investment of £100,000 your client can gain access to the level of resource usually reserved for high net worth discretionary clients.

We offer a range of seven portfolios that invest in collectives and ETFs; and seven MPS direct portfolios that invest directly into UK equity, funds and bond holdings.

The MPS portfolios are accessible either directly or via a third party platform.

As part of our continued commitment to supporting you, the adviser, we have the ability to map the models to the risk profiling tools of our intermediary clients, such as Distribution Technology, to support your assessment of suitability.

Inheritance Tax Portfolio Service

Our Inheritance Tax (IHT) Portfolio Service is a clear and efficient model designed to reduce inheritance tax whilst providing growth potential to enhance your clients’ legacy.

The IHT Portfolio Service invests in a diversified portfolio of established, profitable companies selected from the Alternative Investment Market (AIM). Under current rules, shares in certain companies trading on AIM are treated as ‘business property’ and eligible for a tax relief known as Business Property Relief (BPR). Once these AIM companies have been held for a period of two years, they are no longer considered part of an estate in the IHT calculation.

The IHT Portfolio Service is actively managed, so if we no longer deem the underlying investments suitable or they are no longer eligible for Business Property Relief, we can sell them and reinvest the proceeds into another qualifying company without the two year period restarting.

The Inheritance Tax Portfolio Service should be regarded as high risk as it exclusively invests in equity securities listed on AIM. Portfolios will therefore have a significant exposure to small capitalisation stocks. By their nature small capitalisation stocks have more volatile prices and may have poor or no liquidity. The portfolio is therefore exposed to significant capital losses.

The current Inheritance Tax rules and tax treatment of AIM shares may change in the future. We strongly recommend that clients discuss their financial arrangements with their tax adviser before investing, as the value of any tax reliefs available is subject to individual circumstances.
