Project Statement: This international project was to create the fi rst fl agship West Elm Furniture Showroom in Europe. The project paired fellow group members studying abroad in Rome, Italy and students studying in Ames, Iowa. Having students abroad allowed fi rst hand insight into the Italian culture and guided the design process for this retail space. The design combines West Elms strong wood features with a feeling of an Italian countryside villa.
