Selection Process for Applicants
Eligible applicants are selected on the basis of their academic achievement (in progress or
completed). Applicants who do not possess a senior-level visual arts credit at the (M) or
(Open) level with a minimum 65% will be required to submit a portfolio.
Applicants selected for the program will be notified by mail and their Sheridan email account.
These decisions will not be released over the phone. Fee, registration and timetable
information will follow. Classes for the fall term begin Tuesday, September 3, 2019.
Instructions for Applicants
To move forward in the processing of your application, you must submit a portfolio. It's in your best interest to do so as soon as possible, beginning November 1, 2018, as seats in the program can fill quickly.
Format:
• Include 8.5” x 11” colour or black and white photocopies of original work in either
landscape or portrait orientation (If your originals are in colour, please send a colour
photocopy). YOUR PORTFOLIO WILL NOT BE RETURNED TO YOU. Electronic or
online portfolio submissions will not be accepted (i.e. CDs, websites, etc.).
Assemble your submission in a flat, 2-dimensional portfolio/folder/report cover. Mail
in a 9” X 12” envelope. Portfolios larger than this will not be accepted or evaluated.

• Your portfolio must include 8.5” x 11” colour or black and white photocopies of 10
pieces of your best work; 3 of these MUST be freehand sketches. The other 7 pieces
may be a selection of the following: paintings, architectural drafting, AutoCAD
drawings, perspectives, or other 2 or 3-dimensional creative works, which may be
relevant to your application (i.e. photography, sculpture, etc.).
• Provide a description of each piece and include it in your portfolio (i.e. date, medium,
concept, etc.).
• Include the following on the back of each photocopy:o Full Name
o Student number
o Address
o Telephone Number
Pay the $50 portfolio evaluation fee online:
LOGIN: You will be required to use your Sheridan username and password to login tothe online payment system at http://cerebro.ddi.sheridanc.on.ca/PortfolioSubmission
READ THE INSTRUCTIONS: Once you login you will be required to acknowledge that you have read the instructions.
PAYMENT: You will be required to make a payment of $50 Canadian with a debit or credit card for your portfolio to be assessed. If you have already paid a portfolio fee for a program in the fall term, you will not be required to pay the fee again for another program in the same term.
If you have submitted a portfolio for more than one Sheridan program, you must submit a
separate portfolio for each program.

2. Mobile Computer Technology
Interior Decorating students are required to have a Sheridan approved laptop to
participate in the program. Laptop specifications will be announced in early summer
2019. At that time, please check the Sheridan website at:

3. Check your Sheridan email account frequently.
Many of the communications you receive from Sheridan come to you exclusively via
your Sheridan email account.
