Some history
Originates from the Netherlands in the 70s due to restrictive labor laws.
Permanent employees were protected by long notice periods and high
costs for terminating employees.
Early 80s interim management became more common in other EU
countries too, esp. UK and Germany.
These days nearly 30% of working population in Europe works on interimbasis
Interim Management in Asia still fairly new
Current economic downturn asks for new solutions in Asia as well

Speed: Interim Managers can be in place within days asopposed to weeks/months for a permanent hire
Experience: Interim Managers are usually overqualified for the jobthey take on and therefore stepping down inresponsibility
Objectivity: No previous involvement in company processes or staffrelationships. Bring in fresh perspectives, interimmanagers are free to concentrate on what is best for thebusiness
