On September 7th, 1940, Evelyn Shaw was finished burning her souffle when the sirens went off. She wanted to be a chef like Auguste Escoffier and to bring her brother back home from the war. She spent her nights praying for her brother not to get killed on the front. On September 7th, 1940, while Evelyn was burning her souffle, Rose Tyler sat knitting a sweater for her cat, Gr ünka, who was missing . She was old so she didn’t have many dreams, save seeing her cat home safe. The last war had taken her husband and she feared this one would take her cat. On September 7th, 1940, while Evelyn was burning her souffle and Rose was knitting her sweater, Cole Barker was taking the Underground to get back home. His parents had not been able to provide for him growing up, so he worked his hardest to ensure his daughter had the best.
