FOREWORD

Inter Faculty Forum is an intellectual platform which helps to enrich

Teaching Pedagogies, Research and Professional development with sharing of

expertise by faculty from different disciplines in tune with technical advancement

and scholastic enterprise. It also reflects outcome based interdisciplinary themes

which help for holistic development of the institution in imbibing team spirit,

cooperation and coordination in implementation of quality standards.

IFF a faculty development programme is a seamless part of the

institutional fabric which makes academic professional development by

transforming and enlightening on various themes of common interest. Interactive

sessions and feedback are lively, resourceful and educational.

I appreciate the Coordinator and faculty for their participation and contribution in

the Faculty Development Programme. Finally, marching forwards to empower the

knowledge horizons of the faculty to support the student in this competitive world.

Dr .K. Rajani, Assistant Professor of English gave guest lecture through

Power Point Presentation on Writing for Publication on 7-1-2019. She

explained the definition of ‘Scopus Journal’ which means a bibliographic database

that act as standard license for journal. Why to publish/ where to publish and what

what to publish were also discussed in her PPT.

WORKSHOPS

With the dynamic changes in technology, higher education and employment

opportunities, it has become a challenging effort to the faculty to hone their skills to

meet the requirements of the globalised scenario thereby making the student to face the

competitive world. Hence a Workshop on Blog Creation and Posting of e-content is

organized.

The focus of this was to expose the teachers to technology and to enhance

the pedagogy through which they can adopt new teaching and learning methodologies

by using technology. Dr.G.Ananda Reddy, Principal stressed the need for embracing

new technologies to enhance their research and professional skills. The faculty

enthusiastically participated and learnt many things for creating blogs and also to be a

dynamic blogger.

Sri. M.Ismail, Assistant Professor in Department of Computer Science presented

power point presentation on blogging and posting of e-content.To create a blog, one can

use popular blogging platforms like WordPress and blogger, both of which have free

plans.

Workshop on Updation in Vidwan Portal

Dr.T. Gangaram, NIRF Coordinator conducted workshop on Updation of information in Vidwan

portal on 8-1-2019. He enlightened the faculty about Vidwan Profile. He said that it is a premier

subject expert’s database and National Researcher Network in India supported by MHRD, Govt of

India that contains information about expert’s professional details and accomplishments.

Information and Library Network [INFLIBNET]centre is an autonomous Inter University Centre

of University Grants Commission {UGC}, Govt. of India, involved in modernizing the

University and College libraries in India and connecting them as information centers in the

country through a nation-wide high speed data network using the state-of-art technologies for the
