In addition to English language and study-skills preparation, it is our goal to provide students with the information necessary to navigate through the American collegiate system.

General Advising sessions are held on a quarterly basis, and include such topics as:

• Applying to Cal Poly Pomona

• Completing Online Applications

• Advice from CPELI Alumni

• Finding your major

• Deciding where to apply

• Applying to CPP and other schools

CPELI offers supplementary IELTS and TOEFL preparation courses taught by highly qualified ESL teachers. This course is designed to help students improve their listening, reading, speaking, and writing scores.

The TOEFL/IELTS waiver program allows Cal Poly Pomona undergraduate applicants to submit certification of CPELI Level 5 completion in place of a qualifying iBT TOEFL or IELTS score for admissions purposes.

The Cal Poly Pomona Conditional Admission Program allows students the opportunity to apply for a guaranteed admission spot for the Fall term 2018, please see website.

Eligibility Guidelines must include certified English translation.
