Dear Colleague,

The pace of development and disruption within the automotive and transportation sectors continues to accelerate. Global firmsfrom established industry sectors are having to reinvent themselves amidst a wave of changing social preferences, demographics, andtechnology shifting the goal posts for the conventional means of how to move people and goods from A to B.

Whether it be through new business models influenced by the rising sharing economy, through new connected and data drivenservices, or through the increased levels of autonomy of vehicles and transport provision, the opportunities and challenges haveevolved and created a global race for key players from numerous industries to become mobility providers. Whether vehiclemanufacturers, rental, leasing, public transit or even technology providers, integrators or application vendors, the mobilityecosystem is evolving quickly and continues to attract significant investment in 2016.

Indeed, the very first week of 2016 alone witnessed the $500m investment by GM in ride hailing service Lyft, at the same timeannouncing their intent for a deep partnership to focus on developing autonomous vehicle ride hailing and sharing business models.Just a day later Audi invested $28m in an innovative premium car rental business Silvercar offering a largely mobile service in manyways similar to carsharing. After several years of having supported OEMs in their approach to the evolving mobility businessopportunities, we firmly believe 2016 to be the year of continued large scale investments and partnerships between the automotivesector and mobility services, through venture capital arms and the core functions of financial services and business innovation inparticular.

In many ways this is due to the expanding portfolio of mobility business models offering customers increasing options to get fromA to B without the need for a private vehicle. There are now over 7m members using carsharing services globally, withrelatively well established businesses in round trip, peer to peer and corporate carsharing models. However, we've witnessed a rapidrise in ridesharing platforms, with a further 30m using such services organised through an IT platform, and continued rise of ridehailing services providing on-demand mobility. With the addition of complementary transit options such as bike sharing, parkingservices and journey planning applications, we are moving ever closer to a fully integrated multi-modal mobility network, allowingcustomers to choose their transport based on the best way to get from A to B rather than a single dimensional approach throughthe use of private cars.

Amongst this race to become a "mobility as a service" provider involves several changes of process, mindset and competence fromthe established industry players to become more agile and service driven rather than entirely product focused, but also requiresnew forms of regulation in many cases to set an accessible, equitable future transport system that is safe for the users whilst fosteringeconomic growth.

Our Intelligent Mobility workshop highlights these issues impacting our sector, by providing insight from Frost & Sullivan's globalmobility research - we produce over 100 reports annually related to mobility with a dedicated programme on new mobilitybusiness models - and the leading mobility providers from various industry sectors and public sector bodies. Now in its 8th year,we've witnessed mobility as a topic adapt from predominantly new powertrain and electrification of vehicles, to dedicated newmobility vehicles (often micro mobility) and incremental services that can be offered to attract customers that may not need toown a private vehicle, beginning a blurring of the lines between public and private transportation. With vehicles becomingincreasingly connected and automated, this trend will continue as we start to see new regulatory frameworks enabling automatedvehicles and their related business models in the next 10 years.

We look forward to demonstrating the latest developments in the Intelligent Mobility sector, and sparking some lively debates in acomfortable setting. We are thrilled to welcome you all to Intelligent Mobility 2016, invite you to join the debate, and please leaveus your feedback so we can evolve and support this exciting industry.

Yours sincerely,
