PEMEX – State Monopoly for Oil & Gas

• Scenario: • Multiproduduct pipes that run hundreds of kms throughout the country.

• Problem: • The theft of products that are travelling through multiproduct pipes! • A huge civilian security issue due to the theft:

• The thiefs sometimes caused explosions near populated locations.

• Solution: • ISR Net-Centric Solution: Use of UAVs (Drones) and Hybrid Network (Fiber,

Radio, Satellite) Communications equipment. • PEMEX has signed an agreement with the Army & Air Force where:

• The Air Force would operate the UAVs; • The Army would provide the following:

1. Hub Colocation at the primary communications site for the Army, 2. Fast deployment personnel for the remote trucks.

Example: Dalian Fire

● On July 2010 two oil pipelines exploded in the northeastern port city of

Dalian.

● Low profile SOTM emergency systems fully reinforced Hebei Fire Corps by

assisting frontline firefighting operations:

● Collecting on site images of the fire field

● Collecting real-time visual and audio data from high ground out of fire

field

● Transmitting the data was to the command center of Dalian Fire Corps

● This first-hand information helped the Ministry

of Public Security in their decision to send

firefighting aircrafts to assist ground troops in

putting out the fire, thus saving many lives
