    3. Gathering

    In this gathering session, we are planning to do social activities. Planting a

    thousand trees, sowing seeds of fish and distribute lunch packets are our ideasto growing our care for society. We also want to campaign about how to help

    our national energy sustainability by doing some little things.

    4. Farewell Party

    This farewell held to facilitate the participant of OGIP 2013 to showing the

    culture of each region from where they come from. So, we ask to participant to

    bring your culture characterization for this event.

    Intellectual CompetitionOIL AND GAS INTELLECTUAL PARADE (OGIP) 2013

    The Oil and Gas Industry uses immense investments of technology and assets. The

    need for qualified human resources is without question. Based on this challenge, we

    conduct this Intellectual Competition to encourage students especially in Oil and

    Gas sector to be more active updating for knowledge and issue concerning to the

    Oil and Gas Industry.

    This Intellectual Competition is a series of events for students from any majors

    relating to Oil and Gas Industry around Asia-Pacific region that consists of Pla n o f

    Deve lop m en t Co m pe t it ion, Pa p er Co m p et it ion, and Sm a rt Com p et i tion.

    P.O.D Competition

    Plan of Development Competition is a competition oriented for Indonesian

    university students related to Oil and Gas Industry. This is a competition for students

    to explore their ideas and creativities based on the application of theory from

    many aspec ts such as geology, geophysics, reservoir, drilling, and production

    correlated to the technical or non-technical issue such as environment, economics,

    etc according to the given case study. This integration of subjects becomes the

    main key in processing available data as a plan to develop a field.

    Paper Competition

    This is a competition for students in applying their knowledge by doing a research or

    innovation related to the main theme of the event Ene rg y Susta ina b ility fo r

    Na t ion a l G lory which is beneficial to the real life. This competition is open for any

    undergraduate university students from Asia-Pacific Region.

    Smart Competition

    This is a competitive battle of competencies for its participants to answer thequestions or cases related to the global energy industry. This is eligible for any

    university students related to Oil and Gas Industry in Asia-Pacific Region. There will

    be some rounds to get the winner such as elimination phase, quarter final, semi-final

    and final. Hopefully the event can trigger students in mastering their discipline and

    caring the current issue.

    Student Competition will be held on Wednesday, February 13th 2013in Campus of

    UPN Veteran Yogyakarta.

    A.

    Eligibility

    1. All participants have to meet the requirements for each competition and

    must be enrolled as active students in their respective universities until the

    competition is finished.

    2. All participants must submit the completed registration form and payment

    receipt before the deadline.

    B.

    Communication1. All presentations, verbal communications, written documentation, and

    competition will be held in English except for POD competition, it will be

    held in Bahasa.

    Any additional information for this event will be informed via official website,

    C. Rule of Changes

    Competition rules are subjec t to change. Any rules changes, clarifications,

    and/or agenda will be announced to all participating universities and during

    the technical meeting before the competition.

    D. Accommodation and Transportation

    The committees will only grant the accommodation and transportation for the

    participants (officially selected by committees) during the competition and

    gathering in UPN Veteran Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

    Each participant need to pay the registration fee (per person) of IDR 175.000

    for Local Students or USD 26 for Overseas Students via bank transfer after

    been notified as the selected participant. This payment is applied for all of

    the events described before.

    H. Ethics and Conduct

    1)

    All players, institutional representatives, and other persons associated with ateam are bound by an honor code to behave responsibly and ethically. This

    include, but is not limited to: treating all participants, attendees, and officials

    with courtesy, not receiving or giving impermissible assistanc e, not creating

    the temptation for another to cheat, abiding by all decisions of the

    tournament officials, not colluding with another person to fix a match

    result, not intentionally throwing a match, honestly reporting details of

    game situations to tournament officials, and promptly reporting violations of

    this honor code to a tournament official. Note: participating teams and

    audience shall not write down or record any questions and answers.2) Any tournament official may find that a player, coach, institutional

    representative, or other person associated with a team during the

    tournament has committed misconduct. Misconduct includes disruptive

    behavior, unethical behavior, any violation of the honor code, or other un-

    sportsman like conduct. Official may interpret these categories at their

    discretion.

    3) Major infractions and/or repeated infractions may result in ejection for an

    individual and/or disqualification for a team at the discretion of tournament

    officials.

    4) Changes of participants are allowed due to medical reason only by

    enc losing official letter of hospitalization from a doc tor or hospital before

    February 1st2013. Otherwise, the competition will still be continued with the

    other teammates without any additional player.

    PLAN OF DEVELOPMENT COMPETITIONOIL AND GAS INTELLECTUAL PARADE (OGIP) 2013

    General Rules & Regulation

    1. This competition is open to any Indonesian university students related to Oil and

    Gas Industry.

    2. Competition is presented by a team per university consists of 5 students (3rd or

    4th year students) which has competency related to Oil and Gas Industry.

    Registration

    Each university needs to submit completed registration forms as soon as possible

    before December 25th2012. The first 10 teamsto respond will be guaranteed a spot.

    Then after been notified as the selected teams, they need to submit the POD report

    beforeJanuary 30th2013. Afterwards the best 6 teamswill be awarded to present

    their report on the contest. For the selected finalist, please pay the registration fee

    via bank transfer to our official bank account on January 7th-8th2013. Otherwise,

    they will be replaced by another team on waiting list.

    POD Report Format

    1. POD Report format will be attached together with the case given by the

    committee via e-mail.2. All of Teams have to send the full report and executive summary in . p d f format,

    and insert official OGIP 2013 logo on left-side header of the cover.

    3. All presentations, verbal communications, written documentation, and

    competition will be held in Bahasa.

    4. All of calculations are attached in M ic ro so ft Off ic e Exc e l 2007format.

    5. All of submitted report will be fully possessed by the committee.

    6.

    All of case data and information that will be given are officially completed and

    no additional information or change afterwards. Teams are have right to make

    a clear, creative and responsible assumption if necessary while finishing this

    report.

    POD presentation

    Presentation material and media is optional but has to be prepared before.

    Assessment or judgment will concern on comprehensiveness of data, analysis, and

    results; writing systematic; processing procedure; and presentation skills.

    Presentation material need to provide analyzed geological model, petrophysic,

    production, reservoir, estimated Initial Hydrocarbon in Place, economics, and

    PAPER COMPETITIONOIL AND GAS INTELLECTUAL PARADE (OGIP) 2013

    General Rules & Regulation

    1. Each university is allowed to send maximum of two (2) papers with different title

    and author. Each paper consists of maximum 2 authors.

    2. Numbers of papers that will be qualified for the selection are only ten (10) best

    papers. Presentation of the paper which passed the selection will be

    represented by maximum of 2 persons.

    3. Contestants must be Undergraduate Students in current good standing, and be

    enrolled as full-time students.

    Registration

    Contestants must complete an Entry Form and submit it along with the Abstract

    (written paper if available) directly or on-line to our official secretariat by

    November 26th2012. Then the participants are required to pay the registration fee

    after been notified as the selected abstract. The abstract announcement is on

    December 8th 2012. The registration fee should be sent to our official bank account

    on December 8th- 12th2012.

    Abstract Submittal Instructions

    Abstracts will be evaluated on technical merit, originality and interest to the

    audience. After the paper is accepted, refinement and approvals can be

    completed while preparing and editing the full paper.

    The Contest will be based on Abstracts submitted by contestant who is a full-time

    student.

    1) Title of Paper

    Included in the abstract form are:

    3) Designate which Author will present the paper (presenters name)

    The Abstract should represent as completely as possible the original work of an

    author/s and encourage the committee to select your paper. It should point out

    ways that the reader can use your conc lusions. The abstract should: (a) state

    the scope and principle objectives, (b) methods utilized, (c) summarize the

    results, (d) state the principal conc lusions, and (e) keywords.

    SMART COMPETITIONOIL AND GAS INTELLECTUAL PARADE (OGIP) 2013

    General Rules & Regulation

    1) This competition is open to any university students related to Oil & Gas Industry in

    Asia-Pacific region, such as Petroleum Engineering, Geological Engineering,

    Geophysical Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering, etc.

    2) The cap teams are 24 teams. Each team consists of 3 players only and shall

    designate a team captain.

    3) Each University can send its representatives maximum of 2 teams, the first team

    will be directly listed as participant while the second team is in waiting list. As ifuntil November 25th2012the participants less than 24 teams, then the team in

    waiting list (earliest registration) will fill the empty space.

    Registration

    All of the teams need to submit completed registration form before the deadline.

    The registration is open from October 22th until November 25th 2012 for the first

    phase. Further information about second phase will be informed conditionally. After

    been notified as the selected teams, they need to pay the registration fee on

    November 26th- 28th2012.

    Game Format

    1) The games will be single elimination in which teams compete and the winning

    team (team with most points at end of the round) will advance to the next

    round.

    2) There will be three stages of competition: elimination, semifinal, and final round.

    Tournament Officials

    1)

    J udges: Eac h Competition will have three judges. All judges' decisionsconcerning compliance to the rules and awarding of points will be final.

    2) Moderator/ Host: Each Competition will have a moderator. There may be two

    moderators to share the responsibility. The moderator(s) will read the questions,

    consult judges as needed to determine the correctness of answers, award and

    deduct points, and otherwise enforce the rules of competition. The judges have

    right to dec ide whether moderator can repeat the question or not.

    3) Scorekeeper: Each game will have at least one scorekeeper. These

    scorekeeper(s) will keep the official score and individual statistics.

    c. Bonus Questions

    Team will get a bonus question if the answer is right in toss-up questions

    On bonus questions, the team captain will give the answer or explicitly

    designate another team member to give the answer. Any other players

    answer will not be accepted.

    A team has 25 seconds to answer a bonus question. The 25 seconds starts

    when the moderator finishes reading the question. If the moderator is

    asked to repeat the question the time will still be counting down. After

    25 seconds, the moderator will prompt the team for an answer. Once

    prompted, the team captain (or the team member he designates) must

    immediately begin answering or forfeit the opportunity to answer. A team may begin its answer before the moderator is finished reading all

    of a bonus question. In such cases, the moderator stops reading when the

    team begins its answer. If the bonus contains another part, and the first

    part was answered correc tly, the moderator then reads the next part of

    the question.

    Each bonus question is worth up to 20 points.

    2) Questions are intended to test the contestants knowledge of petroleum

    engineering and the petroleum industry. Questions may include history, trivia,

    current events, technical questions, calculations, and problem solving.3) Suggested (but not all inclusive) list of study materials as possible sources of

    questions:

    a. Academic: Technical, Fundamentals of Petroleum Engineering

    b. Non-Academic: Industry Statistics, History, Trivia, Current Events

    Correct Answers

    1) The moderator will accept only the first answer given by a player.

    2)

    Common acronyms and abbreviations are often acceptable (e.g., chemical

    symbols, state postal abbreviations, organizational ac ronyms), unless theyappear in the question, in which case the moderator may prompt the player to

    expand the acronym or abbreviation.

    Results

    1) Results of all the competition will be announced and awards will be distributed

    immediately following the competition.

    2) Similarity score of the final event, tournament officials will give you one question.

    question to the opponent. if the answer given is wrong, the team who are given

    the opportunity to answer will lose and the opponent will automatically win the

    match.

    3) There will be three winners for smart competition.

    Team Bracket

    1) Subject to change based on number of team.

    2) Cap Team would be 24 teams and elimination round will be conducted with 3

    teams to get one winner that goes into the semi-finals.

    3) If the number of participants is less than 24, then the committee can change

    the team bracket. e.g., at elimination round would be conducted 2 teams to

    get one winner that goes into the semi-finals

    Delegates are required to notify the organizer on any medical history that need for furtherassistance or treatment so easier for the organizer to notify for any problem arose.

    Organizing committees will only provide basic medical assistance and delegates are

    encourage to bring their own medicine for their own safety.
