The Need
Learning Gap:
Current education in dermatology does not include evidence-based curriculum around diet, nutrition, mind-body approaches, stress management, botanicals, skin product ingredients, or nutritional supplements despite patient demand.
Integrative Practitioners:
When patients ask about topics not covered in conventional medical schools or training programs, practitioners are often at a loss. This certificate program is an opportunity to gain the confidence, skills, and support network necessary to build a patient-centric integrative practice.
Patient Demand:
Many patients use complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) therapies, whether or not they disclose this in their visit, and are seeking practitioners who are knowledgeable with regards to alternative treatment options.
The Solution
Evidence-based integrative topics explored in conjunction with the use of conventional and pharmaceutical therapies by nationally-recognized experts to enhance expertise in the most commonly asked patient questions, including those surrounding:
Nutrition, diet, and food
Mind-body approaches and stress management
Herbs, botanicals, and nutritional supplements
Energy based medicines
Aesthetics and ingredients in skin products
Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine
