• To adapt the IMA principles for the peripherical radio systems that successfully applied during processing core development.

• Moving from closed architecture of the federated radio equipment (blocks и systems) to open modular structure of the communication, navigation & landing and surveillance IMA systems.

• Development of the second generation radio technical system with communication, navigation & landing andsurveillance functions based on IMA technologies.

Advantages of the combined IMA radio system

• Decrease quantity of the RF and DSP units due to simultaneous signal processing.

• Improve radio technical characteristics, power reduction and increase reliability of the transmitters, improve electromagnetic environment and temperature conditions in crates in case of external RF units placement near antennas.

• Reduce size and weight of the radio equipment and feeder lines.

To design the multichannel wideband RF units:• Research of the electromagnetic environment issues in case of multichannel work• Providing with dynamic range, linearity and operation time characteristics of the DAC/ADC• Research of the RF units placement variants on the board.• Research of the antennas sharing utilization

2. To utilize the active antennas and spatial signal processing:• Research of the active antennas and active grid antenna arrays utilization expedience for different

types of the signals• Analysis of the operational characteristics and repair capability of the active antennas• Design of the signal processing schemes with spatial diversity.

3. To choose the high speed interface for RF units:• Analysis and test of the different airborne interfaces during transmitting of the signal samples streams• Research of the AFDX airborne network utilization expedience• Analysis of the ANSI/VITA 49.0 и 49.1 protocols for transmitting of the signal samples streams

4. Reliability and safety during simultaneous signal processing:• Safety research in case of the resources splitting during signal processing• Choose the optimal architecture of the unified DSP

5. Standardization and Certification issues.• Issue of the IMA radio technical systems standards• Define the methods and procedures of the IMA radio technical systems certification
