Just ask Sergeant Murphy! In A Day at the Police Station, young readers will get an up-close look at police work - from solving crimes, to helping lost children and more! The fun, lively art will appeal to fans of Richard Scarry - and police officers - everywhere! Slide 10 Books When Mrs. Furber announces that its Library Week, I.Q. cant be more excited. During his first visit, I.Q. makes the amazing discovery that he can borrow books once he gets his own library card. He wants to take out the funny book that Mrs. Binder, the librarian, reads to the class. Slide 11 Books Four people enter a park, and through their eyes we see four different visions. There's the bossy woman, the sad man, the lonely boy and the young girl whose warmth touches those she meets. As the story moves from one voice to another, their perspectives are reflected in the shifting landscape and seasons. This is an intriguing, many-layered, enormously entertaining book that demands to be read again and again. Slide 12 Books They look up to the brave men and women in their impressive firefighting gear and big, shiny trucks. It is important for children to understand what firefighters do. They can also learn how firefighters are here to help the community. If they are ever involved in a fire, the children will know that they can trust the firefighter. They will understand that the firefighters are there to help them.
