Quick Start

Before You Get Started

There is a few pieces of information you will need during this Quick Start. When you sign up with LawToolBox you will be sent a welcome mail that contains your login information for the service, you will need this to use Integrated Deadlines.

System Requirements

In most cases you will install Integrated Deadlines on your server, but it can be installed on any workstation that is able to support Time Matters, the system requirements are the same.

Preparing Your Computer

It is recommended that you install Integrated Deadlines on a dedicated computer or virtual machine, but can be in-stalled on any workstation if you have a small case load.

The computer that is running Integrated Deadlines will monitor your deadlines 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, you should make sure your computer is prepared to act as a 24/7 gateway for your deadlines. The next few steps will help you configure your computer for monitoring your deadlines.

Turn Off Hibernation (if using a dedicated computer)

When your computer goes to sleep it will no longer process your deadlines. To turn it off:

Step 1 - Control Panel Step 2 - Power Options (Hardware & Sound) Step 3 - Change Plan Settings

Preparing for Time Matters integration

Integrated Deadlines talks directly to your Time Matters database and no further configuration of Time Matters is needed. To do this, Integrated Deadlines will attach to your SQL server and create a new user to communicate with your Time Matters database, so you should have an SQL user ID and password with sufficient permissions to create a user and assign rights (typically the ‘sa’ user is used).

Download Integrated Deadlines

Visit http://www.integrateddeadlines.com and click the download button on the toolbar:

When prompted click save and save the file to your desktop:

Once the download is complete, click Run (or browse to your desktop and double click integrateddeadlines.exe):

Install the Software

Once you download your software and launch the installer, simply follow the wizard through the installation proc-ess:

Step 1 - Click Next Step 2 - Click Install Step 3 - Click Finish

Set Up Your SQL Server

Integrated Deadlines can be installed on your own SQL server or it will automatically set up and configure SQL Ex-press for you.

Generally you will use the second method of installing to an existing SQL server when synchronizing with Time Matters

If You Do Not Wish To Use Your Time Matters SQL Server

Once you download your software and launch the installer, simply follow the wizard through the installation proc-ess:

Step 1 - Click Next Step 2 - Click Next Step 3 - SQL is installed, click Finish when done

Once the SQL has been configured you are ready to configure the rest of Integrated Deadlines

Using Your Time Matters SQL Server

Once you download your software and launch the installer, simply follow the wizard through the installation proc-ess:

Step 1 - Click Next Step 2 - Select 2nd option (existing SQL) Step 3 - Choose your SQL server

Step 4 - Provide your SQL login and click Next Step 5 - Click Finish

Once the SQL has been configured you are ready to configure the rest of Integrated Deadlines

Configuring and Registering the Software

When you first start Integrated Deadlines you will be presented with a new wizard to register the software and get it configured for your first use:

Step 1 - Click Next Step 2 - User name and password from page 2 Step 3 - Your main firm telephone number

Step 4 - Select your calendaring application Step 5 - Your firm information Step 6 - Click Finish

You are now ready to start using Integrated Deadlines.

Connecting to Time Matters (if synchronizing with Time Matters)

During the registration process if you selected Time Matters as your calendaring software, Integrated Deadlines will prompt you to connect to your Time Matters database when it is first started:

Step 1 - Click OK Step 2 - Click button next to SQL Server field Step 3 - Select your Time Matters SQL server

Step 4 - Provide your SQL login details Step 5 - Select your Time Matters database Step 6 - Click Save

Integrated Deadlines is now configured to synchronize to your Time Matters database.

Synchronizing Your First Matter

Integrated Deadlines will monitor and synchronize your deadlines automatically, but you can also force it to syn-chronize at any time. For your first installation you will tell Integrated Deadlines to synchronize so you can make sure everything is working properly.

Inside of Integrated Deadlines, click the toolbar button that says Process Now:

The bottom status bar will let you know what it is doing:

Once the synchronization has completed you should be able to find your synchronized deadline for the date specified on page 2 of this guide for each user that has been set up on LawToolBox.
