Insulated Gutters
Kingspan Insulated Gutter System – valley and boundary gutters
It is necessary to design a drainage system to internal drainage in
case of gable and pitch roofs without a parapet. Kingspan offers the
internal drainage system of level prefabricated insulated valley and
parapet gutters.
O Manufactured according to customer’s requirements
O From galvanized metalsheet 0,6 mm thick, PES / polyester 25 μm,
Plastisol 200 μm or Skinplate 0,75 mm, 500 μm in Kingspan
standard shades.
O Thermal insulation from IPN or mineral fibre. IPN insulation can be
40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 100 or 120 mm thick, mineral fibre insulation
can be 60, 80, 100, 120 or 150 mm thick.
O Standard gutters include standard heads / or with overflow.
When designing internal gutter, please keep in mind, that vertical
drainage system can not cross with horizontal support components
of roof construction (girders, clamps, purlins, etc.). As the gutters are
not self-supporting, it is necessary to adjust the steel construction for
their application or to use hooks. Kingspan recommends electrical
heating of gutters.

RW / HTL FF / HTL
Rooflight is an optimal appliance to enable daylight to the interior of the building. This applies especially to longspan roofs, where skylights or rooflight
panels are the only way to effectively fulfill requirements of even daylight spread inside the building. Rooflight panels are laid at the roof surface level.
In case of rooflight panels there is no light loss compared to skylights (skylight support, transversal skylight walls).
Application

Sealants & Fillers
14
Fillers
In the places where the panel end is equipped with flashing, the panel
fits only in the highest parts of the profile, resulting in a gap between
the profile and flashing. It is necessary to insert a filling of the right
size, which will prevent the penetration of wind, water and insects.
Sealants
A building cladding is designed and laid so as to prevent
all weather effects to penetrate in the building. The building
cladding also regulates temperature and prevents from
airleakage. That is why it is important to properly choose, specify
and install the sealants, tapes, binders and fillings to ensure the
finished cladding works properly.
Sealant types O Butyl rubber sealant tape
O PE sealant tape
O PVC foam sealant tape
O Silicon binder
O PUR expansion tape
O Butyl sealant
O Other specific sealants
Fasteners
15
The right choice of fasteners has a great influence on the quality of
final building. These components fasten panels to roof and wall frame
or accessories to the main or supporting construction.
The fasteners have to fulfill the following requirements:
O Roof and wall cladding fastened to main or supporting
construction
O Construction resistance to load
O Airtightness / watertightness of the building
O Lifetime equal to that of cladding system
O The appearance to correspond with the building
Main fasteners
The main fasteners fasten insulated panels to the building
construction. Fasteners fulfill the function of supporting member
and must be able to transmit the load of panels in the building
construction throughout the cladding lifetime.
Fasteners used for insulated panels are either self-tapping or self-
drilling. Other fasteners can be ordered according to customer’s
requirements.
Secondary fasteners and rivets
Secondary fasteners and rivets are applied to side overlaps and for
flashing attachments. Fasteners for thin materials are required for site
installation.
Number of fasteners applied is generally high due to thin and flexible
materials to be fastened. This usually means, that allowed load of
fastener is not the primary factor and the total load is distributed to
a large number of fasteners. When deciding about the right fasteners
applied, please consult with manufacturer or Kingspan Technical
Bureau.
Materials and lifetime
The maximum lifetime of fasteners depends on the corrosion speed,
which can be influenced by technical parameters, internal and
external environment and building construction. We recommend
applying stainless steel fasteners considering the building lifetime.
Carbon steel – coated carbon steel fasteners function reliably on
roofs and walls for a period of 20 years.
Stainless steel – the expected lifetime of stainless steel fasteners is
for over 50 years.
Product guarantee
It is strictly requested to apply stainless steel fasteners on all buildings
where Kingspan extends its guarantee.
Strength
Main fasteners attach panels to building construction and are strong
enough to stand the load. In practice, the wind suction is the most
important load for fasteners (wind suction can cause the panels to
break away from the construction).
