sentences according to the pictures displayed. Click on the slide to start the animation and

see the answer. Slide 20 provide sts with explanation and

example of questions using “can”. Slides 22 to 25 – have sts in pairs ask each other about their abilities using the pictures

That’s an ability!

Stevie Wonder is a musician.He can play the piano and sing very well.

But he is blind and he can’t see.

Rubinho Barrichelo is a race car driver.He can race cars.

But he can’t drive as fast as the others.

To talk about abilities, we use can / can’t + the base form of a verb.

Jô Soares is a journalist.

He can speak many languages.

But he is very fat and

he can’t run.
