WARRANTY

The warranty covers a period of twelve months, from the date of purchase of the appliance or of an integral part thereof. The warranty consists in replacing any failed parts for ascertained manufacturing causes and it is applied directly by your supplier. The workforce along with shipping and packaging costs as well as transport risks shall always be borne by the purchaser.

According to the warranty conditions, damaged parts must be returned carriage paid after communicating all data regarding the model, serial number and defect of the appliance on which the component was assembled. The warranty does not apply to appliances damaged due to negligence, incorrect connections, unsuitable installation, failure to comply with assembly or user instructions, and, in any case, altered by unauthorised personnel. Moreover, the warranty does not apply if the serial number has been changed, deleted, removed or is unknown.

The warranty does not cover the following material:

• Parts subject to normal wear such as belts, bearings, springs, shock absorbers.• Solenoid valve membranes, gaskets and rubber parts in general. • Electric and electronic components, such as motor, coils, contactors, resistors, circuit boards, inverters, etc.

RECIPIENTS

The instructions for use and maintenance are designed for the people in charge of using and managing the appliance and the technician enabled to perform installation and maintenance procedures. Here, reference is made to a correct use of the appliance, with a veiw to maintaining the functional characteristics and quality thereof unchanged over time. All information and warnings on proper use and maintenance in total safety are also provided.

SUPPLY AND STORAGE

The instructions for use and maintenance are provided in hard copy, and attached to the packaging with an adhesive envelope.All additional documentation (e.g. pneumatic and electrical diagrams, sub-suppliers manuals) is attached to this instruction manual.

Keep this manual with the equipment, so that it can be easily consulted by the operator.

The instructions are crucial for safety, therefore:• They must be kept intact (in all their parts) If they are lost or damaged, a copy must be immediately requested• They must follow the appliance until disposal (even in case of transfer, sale, hire, rent, etc....).The attached manuals are an integral part of this documentation and the same recommendations/prescriptions as those contained in this manual apply.

IMPORTANT!Read these instructions for use and maintenance before proceeding with the installation and use of the appliance.

The instructions are also available on the website of the Manufacturer.

UPDATES

If the appliance needs any changes or functional replacements, the instructions review or update shall be borne by the Manufacturer. To facilitate the understanding of the manual, the following are some definitions of the terms used.

SOAKING Phase of the washing cycle that helps loosen dirt or stains that are difficult to remove.

APPLIANCE Product covered by the manual.

SPIN Phase of the washing cycle required to remove water and detergent from the fabric.

DAMAGE Physical injury, damage to people's health, deterioration of assets or of the environment.

SAFETY DEVICES Protection device (different from a guard) which reduces risk (mechanical or electric devices).

WASHING Main phase of the washing cycle required to remove dirt from fabric.

DANGER Potential source of damage.

WEIGHING Phase of the washing programme used to detect the weight (Kg) of the load inside the drum.

PRE-WASHING Phase of the washing cycle that helps loosen and remove organic dirt.

GUARD Part of an appliance used to provide protection by means of a physical barrier.

RISK Combination of the probability of damage occurrance and damage severity.

NDEFINING THE OPERATOR QUALIFICATIONS

Operators are people responsible for the installation, operation, adjustment, and implementation of the appliance routine maintenance and cleaning (each within the limits of the tasks assigned).

They are classified as:

WARNING!Do not change the setting of the frequency inverter parameters. This can cause serious injury, fire, damage, etc.

WARNING!During transport and storage operations do not exert excessive pressure on the packaging as the machine components located along the packaging edges may be damaged.

WARNING!Do not start the appliance if the transport brackets applied to the drum have not been removed (only for "High Spin" washing machines).

WARNING!Use only copper conductors. The appliance must be connected to a power supply circuit to which no lighting units or general use equipment are not connected.

NWARNING!Any installation changes must be approved by the Manufacturer. Otherwise, the manufacturer will not be responsible for any damage to the appliance and/or injury to operators.

WARNING!The drum of the washing machine may contain residues of products used during the production process. These residues may cause stains on the laundry. Therefore, at least 1 hot washing cycle with old rags must be performed before washing the regular laundry.

WARNING!During use, cleaning and maintenance, do not get close to the moving parts of the appliance (motor, belts, fans) with body parts or tools.

WARNING!The use of hypochlorite causes corrosion that may cause breakage of the appliance components.

WARNING!The appliance warranty does not cover damage caused by the use of chlorine.

IMPORTANT!Incorrect amounts of detergent or additives during the washing cycle may reduce the durability and performance of the appliance.

WARNING!Make sure that in the place of installation of the appliance there is no possibility that the latter is exposed to direct or indirect water jets.

WARNING!The appliance has not been designed for operation in in explosive atmospheres and/or with such products.

WARNING!Do not expose the appliance to the elements, excessively high or low temperatures and humidity.

WARNING!Mark the danger zone in the laundry room and hinder access when the appliance is in operation. Keep the surface of the appliance and the surrounding area clean. Keep the appliance away from flammable materials.

WARNING!The appliance has been designed for washing fabrics according to the directions on the labels thereof. Do not wash laundry already cleaned, washed, damp or stained with petrol, detergents for dry cleaning or other flammable or explosive substances, as they release vapours that may cause fires or explosions. These fabrics must first be hand washed and then left to dry.

WARNING!Do not add petrol, detergents for dry cleaning or other flammable and/or explosive substances in the washing bath. These substances release vapours that may cause fires or explosions.

WARNING!If the appliance is not in use for two or more weeks, hydrogen may form inside it, i.e. in the hot water system. Hydrogen gas is explosive. Open the taps and let the hot water run for a few minutes before using the appliance. Do not smoke or use an open flame during this operation.

WARNING!Do not tamper with the controls of the appliance and do not ignore the safety warnings.

WARNING!In case of danger, turn off the main switch and/or other emergency disconnecting devices.

WARNING!Do not open the lid of the detergent dispenser when the machine is in operation. Liquid splashes can cause severe burns.

WARNING!Do not use the appliance in case of broken or missing parts, and/or with lids open. Do not use the appliance until the fixed guards have not been positioned correctly.

WARNING!The appliance must not be stored, installed or exposed to the elements, low or high temperature and humidity levels. Do not wet the washing machine.

WARNING!Regularly check the operation of the door locking mechanism.

WARNING!Disconnect the power supply, turn off the water and steam supply before performing cleaning and maintenance, as well as at the end of each working day.

WARNING!Steam or hot air can leak from the vent on the rear of the appliance. Do not obstruct the slot but protect it adequately.

NWARNING!In the case in which the appliance operates in self-service laundries, an emergency stop device must be installed inside the laundry room.The emergency stop device must be positioned in a visible place, accessible to all users.For installation, please refer to standard EN10472-1. According to it, the "Manufacturer/Installer" must ensure that there are enough devices so that at least one is visible from any location within the operator access area, 2 m away from the machine, and that each device must be located within 8 m from the operator workstations. If this device consists of an emergency stop button, it must be positioned at a height between 700 mm and 1700 mm above the ground or work platform.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The appliance structure consists of:• A moving part, including the steel drum, mechanical transmission with pulley system, motor, springs, shock absorbers (springs

and shock absorbers are only available in the GWH version).• a fixed part, including a structural frame, insulating panels and locking, control panels and accessories.

In the front part there is a loading mouth that allows loading and unloading laundry from the washing drum, and the appliance control panel.

In the upper part there are four detergent dispensers, two for powder detergent and two for liquid detergent respectively.

At the rear there are the connections for the water and steam (if any) inlets, and the electrical connection.

The appliance tank is hydraulically sealed, so as to prevent liquid from escaping. It is equipped with an electrically driven drain through which the washing bath is conveyed to the mains or a recovery tank.

There is an overflow vent through which any liquid excess is conveyed to the drain.

A safety data sheet is available with the machine to safeguard for the operator's safety.

The appliance can be automated by installing an external liquid soap dispenser and a pump conveying liquid soap inside the appliance (the pump is an optional item).

The appliance work cycle (standard, without optional elements) can be divided as follows:

1 Introduction of the laundry to be washed into the steel drum.

2 Introduction into the soap dispenser of the detergents to be used in the washing cycle.

3 Selection of the programme to be used and starting of the washing cycle.

4 When the washing cycle is over, discharge of the washing bath into the seqwage system.

6 Laundry unloading.

7 Disconnection of water and power supplies.

The washing cycle can be summarised as follows:

2 Soaking: Required to loosen dirt that is particularly difficult to remove.

3 Pre-washing: Required to loosen and remove organic dirt.

4 Washing: Main phase of the washing cycle required to remove dirt from fabrics.

5 Rinse: Required to remove detergent and suspended dirt from fabrics.

6 Spin: Required to remove detergent and water from fabrics.

7 Unroll = Final phase of the washing cycle required to detach the laundry from the drum after the final spin.

TTRANSPORT WITH TRANSPALLET

WARNING!The transport and handling activities described in this section must be performed by qualified personnel with specific skills for such operations.

WARNING!Refer to the "Technical data" section for the weight of the appliance.

The appliance is transported to the point closest to the installation lsite on a pallet by means of a transpallet.

Observe the minimum fork length specified in the section "TABLE OF DIMENSIONS AND WEIGHT FOR TRANSPORT".

To handle the machine by transpallet, proceed as follows:

1 Place the transpallet forks under the pallet to which the appliance is fastened.

2 Slowly lift by a few inches and check the grip stability.

3 Proceed slowly until near the place of installation and lower the load again.

Once at the site chosen for installation, proceed as follows:

1 Unscrew the pallet fixing screws on the base of the appliance.

2 Gently slide the appliance off the pallet.

UNPACKING

The floor of the place where the appliance is to be installed must have a thickness of 120 mm.

If the floor of the place where the appliance is to be installed has a thickness of less than 120 mm, proceed as follows:

1 Break the existing floor up to a depth equal to 75 mm/ 2.95”.

2 Dampen the hole and spread the cement.

3 Insert the steel scaffold in the base to increase the flow-rate and reduce concrete deformations (reinforced concrete).

4 Insert the reinforced bars and secure them to the original floor using suitable chemical products, for example.

5 Fill the base with concrete and smooth the surface horizontally.

6 Leave it harden at least one week before assembling the appliance.

During the hardening phase, it is possible to make a reinforced concrete baseboard joined to the floor by 150-200 mm to raise the appliances.

The appliance must be positioned in such a way to avoid jets of steam, water, or other liquids.

To secure the appliance, perform the operations described below.

After locating the appliance in the place of installation, proceed to remove the appliance upper, front, rear, central and lower panels (the latter only in some models where fixings are less accessible):

LIQUID DETERGENT INTRODUCTION PUMP CONNECTION (OPTIONAL)

WARNING!The appliance connections must be carried out by a qualified installer, trained by the Manufacturer.

In the back of the device there are 13 inputs (1) for the hydraulic connection of the liquid detergent automatic dispensing system. Three different diameters are available to allow the connection of the different sections of pipes that can be provided with the automatic dispensing systems.

IMPORTANT!Use pumps for liquid detergents with sufficient flow velocity, so that the required amount is conveyed in a short time (less than 30 seconds).

WARNING!Before connecting, remove with a tool the inner membrane plugging the hole to be used.

On the rear panel is a plastic tube connector for liquid detergent hoses. Depending on the number of pumps used for liquid detergents, drill 8 mm Ø holes (max. 8) in the connecting section for each pump.

IMPORTANT!Use the openings on the left for connecting the pumps.

The pumps resommended flow is 10-60 l/h.

In the connecting section there are three connecting pipes with an internal diameter of 12 mm. These connecting pipes are to be used only for conveying liquid detergent mixed with water. Drill 11.5 mm Ø holes in the pipes. These connecting pipes are normally closed. Drill holes only in the pipes to be used.

WARNING!Before using the appliance, remove the particles produced by drilling as they may clog hoses and holes.

WARNING!Check that the hose connection is sufficiently tightened. Any leaks of chemical substances may cause serious injury, and severe damage to the appliance. If one of the connecting pipes is open, close it and cover the hole with the cap provided.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION OF THE LIQUID DETERGENT AUTOMATIC DISPENSING SYSTEM

WARNING!The appliance electrical connections must be performed by a qualified, enabled technician.

Refer to the wiring diagram for connection modes.For the electrical connection of the signals controlling the dispensing system, a terminal block for the corresponding pump connection is provided on the back of the appliance.The electrical connection plate is located close to the terminal block.

The soap pumps can be powered at 24Vac or 230Vac. The maximum current for the pump control circuit must be powered at 4A.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR MAINTENANCE

The appliances must undergo regular technical maintenance, and any detected defect which can jeopardise the workers' health and safety must be eliminated immediately.

WARNING!Maintenance operations must be performed by qualified, authorised personnel.

From an operational point of view, maintenance operations can be divided in two main categories:

Routinemaintenance

All those preventive operations that the operator must carry out to ensure the smooth operation of the appliance over time.

Extraordinary maintenance

All those operations that the operator must perform on the appliance when required (breakage, malfunctions, ...).

WARNING!Before performing any maintenance work:• Disconnect the appliance from the power source• Disconnect all other supply sources such as steam/condensate drain or gas• Make sure the drum is at a standstill• Make sure internal temperature is below 40°C• make sure there is no water in the tank before opening the porthole.

If the person performing maintenance work is not visible during power disconection, or if people who are not aware of maintenance work being performed can start a cycle without realising the presence of people working on the appliance, it is necessary to affix warning signs indicating "Appliance under maintenance" .

Each procedure described in this manual must be accompanied by the required PPE.

After performing maintenance work and prior to re-commissioning the appliance, it is necessary to:• Make sure that any replaced part and/or the tools used for maintenance have been removed from the appliance• Check the emergency devices• Carefully inspect the appliance before operating it again, and make sure all panels have been reassembled and returned to their

seat.

IMPORTANT!The machine parts must only be replaced with original parts supplied by the Manufacturer.

EROUTINE MAINTENANCE

To ensure the appliance proper operation, regular and preventive checks and maintenance work must be carried out according to the tables provided and the maintenance schedule indicated therein.

Failure to observe the above exempts the Manufacturer from any liability to the effects of the warranty.

The intervals indicated refer to normal operating conditions, i.e. in line with the expected and contractually established operating conditions.

WARNING!The personnel in charge of maintenance activities must be authorised and especially trained on the safety and operational standards to be complied with in the danger situations that may arise, and the correct methods for avoiding them.

Make sure that the washing cycle does not start with the porthole open and that the latter cannot be opened when the washing cycle is in progress.

The appliance electronic control counts its cycles and operating hours. Every 1000 cycles (or manually), it indicates the request for maintenance. Proceed as follows as soon as the message is displayed:

Proceed as follows to check the belt tensioning:

1 Apply a force of 60N to the central point between motor and belt (perpendicularly and only to one belt at a time).

3 Use the screw and the motor support adjustment and locking nut to obtain the indicated value.

WARNING!If the belt is too tight, wear is more likely to occur. On the other hand, if it is too loose, the belt tends to skid.

Replace the belt if worn. Contact the Authorised After-Sales Centre for replacement.

Should an “electric belt tensioning meter” be available, the reference frequency of the single appliances are indicated in the following table.

CLEANING

The appliance must be kept well cleaned. Regular cleaning reduces the risk of breakdowns and accidents.

EREPLACING THE DOOR GASKET

To replace the door gasket, proceed as follows:

1 Open the door.

2 Remove the glass of the door with the gasket, pulling the gasket of the door steel frame in the drum direction.

3 Tear off the gasket from the glass.

4 Insert the new gasket into the glass wider recess, with the edge upwards.

5 Lubricate the recess of the door gasket with soap and water.

• Run a smooth rope into the recess. • Wrap the entire edging with the rope and fit it into the door frame.• Grasp one end of the rope with your hand and press it against the door. • Pull the other end towards the centre of the glass to properly lay the gasket edging.

7 Apply some silicone on the frame top and bottom.

8 Leave the door closed until the silicone is hardened.

TRANSMISSION BELT REPLACEMENT

WARNING!Make sure the appliance is not connected to the power supply and cannot be accidentally turned on.

WARNING!To remove belts from the pulley, never use levers, screwdrivers or similar tools.

Belts are accessible from the rear of the appliances. If belts are too tight or too loose, their life cycle is reduced. Moreover, if they are too loose, they can come out of the seat of the pulley and cause damage and noise.

WARNING!Pay attention during the course of operations. A risk of shearing/crushing persists.

To replace the transmission belt, proceed as follows:

1 Remove the rear panel of the machine.

2 Slide out the belt transmission rotating the pulley of the drum by a quarter turn.

3Place the new belt on the motor pulley first and then on the pulley of the drum by rotating it slightly. The belt is self-centring.
