INSTRUCTIONS FOR HUMMER H3 ACCESSORIES

Step 1. Removing Factory Taillight

Stainless Steel Taillight Guards (Patent Pending) Time To Install: Approx. 40 Minutes

Open the rear door and locate the two Phillips headscrews that are holding the tail light to the vehicle.Next using a Phillips head screwdriver remove thesetwo screws. (See Fig. 1A) Then using two hands,wedge your fingers behind the top part of the taillightand pull the top of the taillight out. (See Fig. 1B)Then repeat the same process for the bottom portionof the taillight, and pull the tail light completely outfrom the body. (See Fig. 1C) Next, by turning thelight bulb connectors counter clockwise remove theupper and lower light bulbs from the taillight. (SeeFigs. 1D & 1E) Note: Leave the light bulbs hangingby their wires until you are ready to reinstall them.

Step 2. Cleaning, Priming &Loosely Re-installing TaillightUsing Windex, clean the entire taillight, especially thebottom black plastic section of the taillight. (See Fig.2A) Next using the primer stick included, thoroughlyprime the black lower section of the taillight. (SeeFig. 2B) Note: The primer has to sit for 5 minutesbefore installing the taillight guard onto taillight.

Next reinstall light bulbs, (See Figs. 2C & 2D) Thenloosely reinstall the taillight onto the vehicle. (SeeFigs. 2E, 2F, 2G, & 2H.) Note: Fig. 2G is a close upshowing one of the lower clips before it gets com-pletely installed into one of the lower connectors.FIG. 1A

Step 3. Cleaning, Priming &Loosely Re-installing TaillightBegin by removing the backing from the 3M doublesided tape from the bottom portions of the TaillightGuard. (See Fig. 3A) Note: Once the backing isremoved, take care not to let this exposed tape touchany part of the taillight at this point, because it willget pushed into place later in Step 3. Next, place theTaillight Guard onto the top portion of the taillight.Align the Taillight Guard so the Taillight Guard ShearForm Clip is under the inside edge of the taillight lens.(See Figs. 3B, 3C & 3D) Next, holding the TaillightGuard in place on the taillight begin pushing the tail-light back into place. Note: At this point find the sloton top of the Taillight Guard, and looking into thebody of the vehicle align this slot with the vertical sec-tion of the body. (See Fig. 3D) Once the alignment ismade with this slot, continue pushing the taillight andTaillight Guard back onto the vehicle. (See Figs. 3E &3F) Then push the bottom portion of the TaillightGuard where the backing of the double sided tapewas previously removed and push on the TaillightGuard until it seats against the bottom edge of thetaillight. Once it is seated into place push and holdpressure against this section of the Taillight Guard fora several seconds. (See Fig. 3G) Next replace thetwo Phillips head screws and you are finished withone side. (See Figs. 3H & 3I) Repeat the sameprocess on the other side.
