Team Members celebrating five, ten and fifteen years of employment at Gila River Casinos were treated to a special lunch in January.

The event recognized the long serving members of Gila River Casinos and Ovations with special raffle prizes and speeches from executives. 173 Team Members were recognized for their five year anniversary,

115 for ten years and 63 Team Members received recognition for fifteen years of service. Congratulations and thank you to all the recognized Team Members.

The Arizona Diamondbacks visit Vee Quiva Hotel & Casino Friday, February 7. Players, coaches, broadcasters and alumni will sign autographs

and pose for pictures to kick-off the new season.

Team Members are invited to take part in the autograph session which takes place from 6:00

p.m. to 7:00 p.m. inside the Vee Quiva Event Center. Off duty Team Members must follow all policies and procedures for appearing on work

property. Badges must be worn and visible and Team Members must enter through

Team Member entrance.

Last month the Arizona Diamondbacks recognized Gila River Casinos as the Most Valuable Partner (MVP) for the 2013 baseball season. Gila River Casinos secured the coveted award with tremendous employee support, commitment to community and an innovative use of the D-backs brand.

The training department at Gila River Casinos offers classes all year to help your professional and career development. To help Team Members access these classes, the training department has created the “Learning Ki”

and Training Tracks programs.

The Learning Ki is a website that allows Team Members to register for and keep track of training opportunities. The site is accessible through the TeamWorks website under the Training & Development section.

Training Tracks are a set of trainings that will help you increase your value, not only at GRGE, but anywhere in the business world. The classes include training in guest service, diversity training, time management and many other areas.

These classes will be required learning for all Gila River Team Members with computer access beginning this year. Your supervisor or manager will help you discover how you can take advantage of these training opportunities

in the coming weeks.

A parade marking the 69th anniversary of the Iwo Jima flag raising is scheduled for Saturday February 22nd on the Gila River Indian Community. Ira Hayes, one of the community’s own, was immortalized in the famous photograph taken of the Iwo Jima flag raise in 1945. The Gila River Indian Community and veteran groups from around the country come out to commemorate the flag raising by participating in the parade or by just watching the festivity. The Parade is sponsored by the Ira Hayes American Legion post #84 and the Ira Hayes American legion Auxiliary #84 and the Gila River Indian Community.
