1.1 How to Format a Bootable USB Memory Stick Locate the program named “ufdprep.exe” inside this directory. Insert the USB (size >= 4G) to your desktop Windows XP PC (XP only) and run this command on a DOS or command window: ufdprep /ntfs /y x: (where x is the drive letter for the USB) Note: not all off the shelf USB memory sticks are bootable. If the particular USB you just format using the above command can’t boot up the Axiomtek box, don’t waste time and just find another USB memory stick. 1.2 Unzip the File to the Root of the USB Memory Stick Locate the file named “SiteServerUSBImage1.93P1.zip”. Unzip the file to the root of the USB. Once this step has been done, you should find these files and directories on the USB: 1.3 How to Boot from the USB Memory Stick Locate the file named “Howto Boot from USB.doc” inside this directory. Follow the step-by-step instruction to boot the SiteServer box from the USB.

1.1 How to Format a Bootable USB Memory Stick

1.2 Unzip the File to the Root of the USB Memory Stick

Locate the file named “SiteServerUSBImage1.93P1.zip”. Unzip the file to the root of the USB.

Once this step has been done, you should find these files and directories on the USB:

1.3 How to Boot from the USB Memory Stick

Locate the file named “Howto Boot from USB.doc” inside this directory. Follow the step-by-step instruction to boot the SiteServer box from the USB.

1.4 How to Restore the SiteServer

Once you successfully boot the box from the USB, execute this command at the command prompt: RestoreSiteServer

This will restore the SiteServer box to factory 1.93 image.

Power off the box, remove the USB memory, and power back on the box. Then follow the SiteServe quick startup guide (or first time boot up SiteServer guide) to configure it further.
