+ INTRO +Thank you for downloading the Buttonhead design templates. I am looking forward to working with you!+ REQUIREMENTS +1. You must have a copy of Photoshop (Elements or CS) to work with these files.2. To place a Buttonhead order using multiple designs, your file submission must be full page layout, zipped, and 100% printer-ready.+ FREE VIDEO TUTORIAL +Learn how to use these templates in just 10 minutes! Check out the complete video tutorial at:http://youtu.be/I9Eocr3TSaI+ DESIGN TEMPLATE OVERVIEW +Templates are divided into 8 layers, which can be viewed in the 'Layers' panel in Photoshop.Layers with an asterisk (*) indicated below should be turned OFF prior to submission.1*. Button Face: The main design area2*. Button Edge (Text Optional): The visible edge area 3*. Button Bleed (Hidden): The bleed area that is crunched between the shell and the collet during production. Although any part of your design that falls into this outer circle will NOT be visible on the final button, it should be consistent with your overall design, so please don't ignore it. 4*. Guidelines: To be used as a design guide only. Please turn OFF this layer prior to submission. 5*. Hidden Areas: Each button design has visible and hidden areas on the template. Designs placed on the Button Face and Button Edge areas will be visible on the final item. The Button Bleed is for production purposes only. Even though this area will not be visible on the final item, it should be consistent with the rest of the design to allow for production cropping. 6*. Edge Text: Each downloadable design template includes an area for optional edge text that wraps around the edge of a button item. It's important to note that the edge width is only around inch and requires precision of use. Edge text works best on a design with a plain white (or light) background, so that the text can be clear and effective in such a small space. Adding edge text to a dark or pattern background will not produce the best quality print. Making adjustments to the font type and size is also not recommended. The templates provided are set to produce the best possible final product.7. Background: Contains the complete graphic design.8. For White Backgrounds: If your design is on a white background, please turn on this layer to create a crop mark.+ PAGE TEMPLATE OVERVIEW +If you placing a Buttonhead order and you'd like to use more than 1 design, you will need to create a print-ready page layout using the 'Page Template'. The 'Page Template' represents an 8.5"x11" piece of standard paper.1. Turn on 'Extras' in your version of Photoshop to view margins and guidelines. (View > Extras)2. Copy and paste your individual button designs into the page template to equal the number of items in your order.3. Create and save multiple page templates to equal the number of items in your order. For instance, if your order is for 100 buttons, your final result will be 100 button designs pasted into multiple page templates.4. Save and Zip your files. Tutorial on how to zip your files is located here: http://www.wikihow.com/Compress-Large-Files+ ORDER AND UPLOAD +1. You may place an order in my web shop at: http://www.buttonhead.biz2. Digital Print Color Management (Article):http://buttonhead.org/blog/2012/08/26/digital-print-color-management/3. When in doubt, simplify! The best designs are clear and concise. Always keep the size of your final item in mind. Design ideas are big, but buttons are small. It's also a good idea to let purpose guide the design process. What will the final item be used for? If it's a promotional event, what information do you need to emphasize? If it's a gift, is it appropriate to add your text contact information? Consider the audience first and foremost. The best keepsake is the one everyone will want to keep.+ FILE SPECIFICATIONS +- 300 ppi - .PSD, .PDF, .AI, .EPS, .TIFF, .BMP, .JPG - Color Profile: sRGB / RGB/8 to CMYK SWOP- 8.5x11 Page with .25 Bleed1 Buttons/Magnets: 0.875 Button Face + 0.438 Button Edge = 1.313 Diameter 1.5 Buttons/Magnets: 1.375 Button Face + 0.462 Button Edge = 1.837 Diameter 2.25 Buttons/Magnets/Mirrors: 2.125 Button Face + 0.502 Button Edge = 2.627 Diameter+ TERMS OF USE +By using these templates, you agree to assume responsibility for the setup of your artwork and the final result of your layout.
