To develop the capacity of Institutions and stakeholders to:

identify, develop and appraise no/low regrets investments options and;

integrate these into national planning processes, development plans

by understanding and knowing how to apply the framework

To contributes to NAPs process- objectives – UNDP-GEF

To reduce vulnerability to the impacts of climate change

by building adaptive capacity and resilience;

To facilitate the integration of climate change adaptation, in a coherent manner

into relevant new and existing policies, programmes and activities

in particular development planning processes and strategies, within all relevant sectors and at different levels, as appropriate

Workshops ObjectivesWorkshop1: Setting the scene and understanding the problem

Provide an initial overview and sensitization of the framework Present the case for investing in WS for CRD Start exploring some of the methods available to understand

vulnerability and climate impacts

Workshop 2: Identifying and appraising solutions

Provide approaches, methods and tools to develop a balanced portfolio of investment options that enhance WS for CR growth and development

to prioritize no/low regret options and to make a case clear economic for investment

Workshop 3: Delivering solutions

Highlight the financing strategies for the portfolio of initial no/low regret investment identified at workshop 2 and in intervening period

Explain how these can be integrated into existing development planning processes

Workshop 4: Monitoring and moving forwards and introduction to the framework

Highlight the importance of an effective M& E framework in assessing the value that applying the framework has added

Workshop 5: Wrap up, lessons learned

Wrap up the training programme; review activities, outcomes, actual learning taking place etc.
