Warp Records• Warp records is a British record label that was founded in 1989 in
Sheffield by Steve Beckett, Rob Mitchell and Robert Gordon. • The label is renowned for signing upcoming artists who specialise in
electronic music. For example, Boards of Canada and Aphex Twin who both create ambient music. • In 1992, Warp released a number of singles under the Artificial
Intelligence heading. Aphex twin was included in the release under a different stage name, ‘Diceman’ (and then later, Polygon Window…) • Along with a second release of an Artificial Intelligence
compilation, a VHS compilation of digitally animated music videos called Motion was released. This features an early work by director David Slade. • Since then, the record label released “Warp 10: Influences, Classics,
Remixes,” in 1999, which was a compilation of six disks that featured a series of acid house and techno music tracks. • In 2000 the label moved to London, taking its physical music and
merchandise store, ‘Warpmart’ with it.

• A record label like Warp Records would be the sort of institution that would sign my music video. • This is due to the ambient and electronic qualities of the track I intend to use. • Because I am using an unsigned artist for my actual video as well, this prospect is all the more probable, so to speak.
