Clause 1: Accuracy

Rules:- Don’t publish inaccurate, misleading or

distorted information, including pictures- If some thing misleading… was

published, it must be corrected promptly- Must distinguish between comment,

conjecture and fact- A publication must be reported fairly

and accurately.

Reason: In my magazine, when I want to refer to already existing celebrities, I need to be careful not to publish any misleading information, this also includes anything else from institutions to any other information.

Clause 2: Opportunity to Reply

Rules:- A chance to reply to inaccuracies must be given.

Reason: When I do my production, and a reader finds it offensive or has any general problem with it, there must be a way for the person to get his/her complaints through. So I must include some information, which allows readers to complain directly to me. This can be done through an official Facebook page or an e-mail address.

Clause 3: Privacy

Rules:- Everyone is entitled to respect for their

family, home, health and correspondence.

- Editor’s must justify why they intruded into some ones personal affairs.

- Not allowed to photograph individuals on private property.

Reason: in order to obey this clause, all of the artists filled out a contract saying that they we okay with their pictures being published, which was then also signed by the individual.

Clause 12: Discrimination

Rules:- The editor must avoid including

prejudicial material in their media, referring to someone’s race, colour, religion, gender, sexual orientation, and any mental or physical disabilities.

- Only allowed if essential to the story

Reason: If my magazine does contain racially offensive content, it could turn into a major problem, so I will simply refrain from writing anything that could be miss interpreted.

Clause 14: Confidential Sources

Rules:-Journalists and editor’s have a legal obligation to protect confidential sources of information

All these rules were taken out of the ‘ Independent Press Standards Organisation’ I will beware of breaking any of these rules.

Reason: Naturally it is important for the product not to upset or harm anyone. So if I was to given information, which could potentially harm the source, then it would be my priority to protect that source.
