There are three main sources for energy statistics in Egypt:

Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

I. Ministry of Petroleum (MoP)

MoP is responsible for the following independent companies in Egypt:companies in Egypt:

I. Ministry of Petroleum (2)MoP covered 95 % of the oil market in Egypt.

It provides CAPMAS with following annual metadata:It provides CAPMAS with following annual metadata:Total amounts of produced & consumed crude oil and its refineries.its refineries.Total amounts of produced & consumed natural gas.

However, these data is only on the national level for the broad categories of the economic activities level (butthe broad categories of the economic activities level (but not in detail for each subsection of the economic activities).

II. Ministry of Electricity and Energy (MoEE)(MoEE)

It provides CAPMAS with data relating to electric energy production & consumption It is responsibleenergy production & consumption. III. Surveys conducted by CAPMAS

Planning for the future At the moment, CAPMAS is planning to collect

detail data for the final consumption of energy and l t i it i h i ti it di t thelectricity in each economic activity according to the

international classification (IRIS, ver. 4), through the following currently surveys:

Surveys need to be conducted in Egypt

CAPMAS is planning to conduct a survey for the final consumption of energy and electricity in transportation sector in Egypt by the collaborating with the European Union (through the MEDSTAT II p ( gproject). However, it hasn’t executed yet. The main problem is the financial.

Also we are planning to coordinate with the agricultural activities stockholders in order to obtain th fi l ti f d l t i it ithe final consumption of energy and electricity in agricultural activities.
