A lack of visual communication also makes it hard for people to convey their ideas.

Brief history of remote collaboration

As email became commonplace in the early 1990s, developers began analyzing the benefits of hiring remote talent. By the late 1990s, shared file spaces allowed programmers to store documents in a central working hub.
