This tutorial shows you how to install the Eclipse Snippet plugin if it’s not available. Snippets are part of the Web Developer Tools, specifically the WST Common UI. These tools don’t come with all packaged versions of Eclipse.

Installing Snippets in Eclipse (Juno)

From the menu bar, select Help ➞ Install New Software...

Enter “http://download.eclipse.org/releases/juno” into the “Work with:” text box.Scroll down, find and expand the “Web, XML ... Development” entry.

Scroll down and check the “Eclipse Web Developer Tools” item.Then, click the “Next” button.

On the next page, click the “Next” button again.

Activate the “I accept the terms ...” radio button.Then, click the “Finish” button.

Let Eclipse do its thing, then restart Eclipse when it asks you to.

From the menu bar, choose Window ➞ Show View ➞ Other...

Start typing “snip” in the filter box.Then, select “Snippets” and then click the “OK” button.

The snippets view will probably appear in the bottom pane (note, yours will probably be empty).

If you like, drag it to another area of the screen.Now you can right-click in the snippets view and click “Customize...” to add your snippets.
