Introduction
With MASTERCOM’s “My WebSites” web site access is effortless because the user does not have to remember
usernames and passwords.
Users can easily update passwords when they need to be changed. Gone is the frustration of trying to
remember usernames and passwords. Logging into a web site is now quick and easy to get the information
one needs to do their job.
With MASTERCOM’s My WeSites software, one selects a web site from a drop list, Microsoft Internet
Explorer is automatically invoked and then ‘My WebSite Login‘ is selected in the Links bar to automatically
login.
Note: P& C insurance brokers will find this automatic log in a real time saver. Anybody with member-only
web sites will find this software invaluable.
Support includes updates posted on MASTERCOM Consulting Ltd. web page www.mastercom.com.
Problem reporting is via e-mail to “[email protected]” with telephone support at 416-236-1493. MASTERCOM‘s My WebSites software requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or greater.
The My WebSites software can be configured to allow the users to update their own list of web sites or have
their web sites updated remotely by an Administrator. A special case allows for all users to use the same web
sites with the same passwords located on a server.
Minimum Requirements
- Processor : Intel Pentium class, 2.00GHz or higher
- Operating Systems: Microsoft Windows 2000/XP Professional/Vista Business
- Minimum RAM Requirements: 512 MB
- Display Video: 800×600, 256 colours
The Microsoft .NET Framework 2 is required to run the MASTERCOM’s My WebSites programs. The .NET
Framework software comes preloaded on Windows 2000/XP, Windows Vista systems. Windows systems should
have this software installed as part of the “Windows Update”.

My WebSites is loaded as part of the startup.
To view your license click the Open icon
If the Yes,Go checkbox is checked, Internet Explorer will be automatically invoked when a web site is
selected from the drop down list, otherwise click Go.
If the Signin Required checkbox has been checked in My WebSites Preferences dialog box, then a My
WebSites sign in dialog box is displayed, as shown below, for the user to type in a password to continue.
This signin is required only once for a My WebSites session. This signin will protect your web sites from
someone walking up to your terminal. You must remember to close My WebSites if you leave your
terminal unattended.

Before clicking the My WebSite Login link ensure the cursor is positioned in the userid field. Most web
sites automatically position the cursor in the userid field. When the My WebSite Login link is clicked a
MASTERCOM Automatic Website Login box is displayed to remind you of the web site that was
selected. The username and password are then automatically inserted in the respective fields and you are
logged in.
If you get a “File Download – Security Warning” then click the “Run” button and follow the
instructions on the next page to “Always run software from “MASTERCOM Consulting Ltd.”

Click the More Options button.
Select the “Always run software from “MASTERCOM Consulting Ltd.” option
and click the Run button.

To specify the path for Microsoft Internet Explorer select the yellow UPDATE button and then the
Preferences button. Presently Firefox cannot be used as it does not support a link program. Check the Signin
Required checkbox to require a signin to access your file of web sites. Warning: Once this is checked and
the OK button has been selected you cannot deactivate the Signin Required as this a security feature to
prevent someone getting on your PC and changing the signin requirement.

My WebSites - Change Signin Password
If the user wishes to change their signin password specify the present password and click the Change
Password button.
The following dialog box is displayed for the user to change the password.
To specify a new password, click the Change Password button, type in new password in the New
Password: field and in the Again to Confirm: field and then select the Change Now! button. This button
will turn red when you enter the “Again to Confirm:” field as reminder that the button should be clicked to
complete the action. Select the Exit button to exit.

To add a web site: (e.g. Wawanesa Broker Site - https://www.wawanesabroker.com/login.asp)
1) Click the yellow UPDATE icon
2) Click the Add a New Website button.
3) Click the Pick a Category drop-down list and select a category to group the new website with like
web sites. To add a new category click the Add button uder the “Assign a Category” drop-down text
box.
4) Type “Wawanesa Broker Site” in the Name: field.
5) Type or copy the URL into the Address: field.
6) Click the Add New button.

8) Click the Yes checkbox to specify that this is a login web site.
9) Specify the login username in the Userid: field and the password in the Password: field.
Note: For the greatest security, if you want to type in the password yourself, then leave the password
field blank and you will then be left in the password field to continue the login.
10) Select the number of tabs to move from the userid field to the password field. For the majority of web
sites the value is one tab.
11) The Save Changes button turns red as a reminder to save any changes. Remember to click the Save
Changes button if it turns red. Select the Exit button to exit.
If the login is an “Enter Network Password” dialog box, as illustrated below, check the Connect To..
Dialog Box checkbox.

Installing a User
The setup program, setupcli.exe, guides you through the My WebSites installation process by prompting
you for information and automatically determining your system configuration.
When installing the My WebSites software, you may need administrative privileges.
Note: Your Microsoft Internet Explorer must be Version 6.0 or greater.
As illustrated below:
1) On the server make a folder of e.g. \MyWebSites in the folder you share out for 3rd
party applications.
2) In that folder put your license files.
3) Create a folder for each user who will be using the My WebSites Automatic Web Login software.
4) Put the MASTERCOM setupcli.exe installation file in each of the user’s folder.

5) On the user’s PC explore to the mapped drive for for 3rd
party applications and then to the user’s folder
in the “MyWebSites” folder, as shown below.
5) Double click the setupcli.exe to start up the installation.
6) Select the Run button to continue with the installation.

Select the Next button to continue with the installation.
After reading and agreeing to the license agreement, select I accept … and the Next button to
continue with the installation.

Fill in your name, company and your product identification number and then the Next button.
Select the Next button to continue with the installation.

Installing a First User
Select the Finish button to complete this part of the installation.
The My Websites installation defaults the user to updating his/her own web sites. This is the normal
installation option. If you wish to configure the user later you can explore to \Program Files\MyWebSites
and run ConfigureClient.exe program.

As part of the installation:
1- a My WebSites icon is put on the desktop, as shown below.
2- a My WebSites shortcut is put in the “Startup” folder
3- a My WebSites Login is put in Internet Explorer’s Links bar, as shown below.

Errors
If you get the following “Signin-Exception”
then the registry entry of in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE\ MyWebSites with the “String
Value” of Signin and value of “N”, as shown below, was not created. Create this entry manually or
reinstall the software giving the user administrative privileges.

Before Installing Other Users
After you have installed the first user, you should update that user with all the web sites that all users will
be using. When the web sites have been tested, copy the myLinks.fil and myWebCategories.fil from the
installed ..\Database folder to the \MyWebSites folder on the server.
As illustrated below, when the setupcli.exe installation finishes the Configure User dialog box provides
the option to copy the myLinks.fil and myWebCategories.fil from the \MyWebSites folder to the
installed user’s folder.
After the installation you can still configure the user by exploring to the ..\Program Files\MyWebSites
folder and running the ConfigureClient.exe program.

One MyLinks.fil File For All Users
One MyLinks.fil and MyWebCategories.fil on the Server If the installation is the special case where all users would use the same login to all web sites, the updates
would made by a user, designated as the Administrator, who would have the update enabled on his/her
installation of My WebSites software. He/She would do updates on their copy of the myLinks.fil and
myWebCategories.fil files. These files then would then be copied from this user’s ..\Database folder to
the \MyWebSites folder.
For all other users the Client uses the server’s ‘mylinks.fil’ file’s Yes/No checkbox would be checked on,
as shown below.

Users can be managed remotely by downloading setupadm.exe from MASTERCOM’s web site the
installing it on your computer.
In the My WebSites Admin 3.0 program folder select the Manage Users program-item to display the
following dialog box to manage the users’ links files.
A userList.txt file holds the users to be managed by the “Manage Users” program. Before a user can be managed,
the user’s MyWebSites’s folder on the server must be added to the userList.txt file.
1) To add a user, click the Add a User button and browse and select a user’s folder e.g. Cathy as shown
below.

2) In the dialog box, type in the user’s name and telephone extension to identify who owns the folder
and the telephone to contact that person, if you wish, when you are working on his/her mylinks.fil file.
3) Select the OK button to add the user to the userlist.
3) The Save List button turns red to remind you to click the Save List button.

If the “MyWebSites” folder is not mapped then select the Network node and browse to the user’s
“MyWebsites” folder, as illustrated below.
Select the OK button and then fill in the user’s name etc. and click OK button to add the user to the list, as
shown below.
To update a user’s file double-click the user or click the user and then click the Edit User’s Links File button.

If the user’s path is UNC, then a map command is executed to map the drive letter to the user’s folder. A
command window is opened, as shown below, to show the mapping command and whether it was completed
successfully. You would then press any key, i.e. <Enter> to continue.
The My WebSites update program is automatically loaded for you to update/add web sites to the user’s links file.
