Removing the Vehicle Parts
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery:• Wrap a shop towel around the hood latch.

• Remove the front bulkhead cover.

• Remove the air intake tube.• Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

• Remove the air intake guide.

• Remove the four self-tapping screws, the two push rivet clips, the four clips, the four short clips, the four washer-bolts, and the four flange bolts.

• With the help of an assistant, release the front bumper. Place the front bumper on the blanket to prevent damage.

3. Open the glove box by pushing the button (unlock with the built-in key). Remove the passenger’s dashboard side vent.

4. Remove the passenger’s dashboard trim panel. Close the glove box.

14. Remove the center lower trim and unplug the vehicle connectors.

• With the help of an assistant, remove the rear bumper. Place the rear bumper on a blanket to prevent damage.

Installing the Parking Sensors
20. Using a pushpin, pierce the four scribe marks onto the rear bumper as shown.

21. While wearing eye protection, drill the four pierced marks to 8.5 mm from the inside of the bumper.• First drill with a 3 mm drill bit, then drill with a 6
mm drill bit, and finish with an 8.5 mm drill bit.

22. Using the 16 mm Punch Tool, punch out the four rear bumper holes as shown.

23. Using an alcohol swab, thoroughly clean the rear bumper where the retainers will attach.

24. Attach the four retainers to the rear bumper as shown.NOTE: Make sure the retainers are attached with the arrows in the proper direction.

26. Plug the four rear bumper harness 6-pin connectors into the two sensors A and the two sensors B.

27. Secure the four rear bumper harness clips to the two sensors A and two sensors B as shown.

29. With the help of an assistant, remove the dummy connector from the vehicle 3-pin connector and plug the rear bumper harness 3-pin connector into the vehicle 3-pin connector. Install the rear bumper.

32. Plug the four front bumper harness 6-pin connectors into sensor D, sensor E and both sensors C.

34. Secure the six front bumper harness clips to the front bumper as shown.

35. With the help of an assistant, remove the dummy connector from the vehicle 3-pin connector and plug the front bumper harness 3-pin connector into the vehicle 3-pin connector. Reinstall the front bumper.

36. Install the control unit bracket onto the control unit.

37. Locate the vehicle 16-pin connector taped to the vehicle harness. Remove the tape to free the vehicle 16-pin connector and plug the vehicle 16-pin connector into the control unit.

38. Attach the control unit to the vehicle frame using the self-tapping screw.

39. Remove the switch panel and unplug the vehicle connectors.

40. Remove the lid. Install the switch into the switch panel as shown.

41. Locate the vehicle 6-pin connector (brown) taped to the vehicle harness. Remove the tape to free the vehicle 6-pin connector (brown) and plug the vehicle 6-pin connector (brown) to the switch.

42. Install the switch panel.
43. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properly and that all connectors are plugged in.
44. Install all removed parts except for the front bulkhead cover and the air intake tube.
45. Connect the negative cable to the battery.46. Install the front bulkhead cover and the air intake
tube.47. Press and hold the audio unit power button for 2
seconds to restore the audio and navi (if equipped) system functions.
48. Set the clock on vehicles without navigation.49. Check that the parking sensors work properly as
described in the User’s Information Manual.50. If necessary, restore the systems back to normal
operation as described in the service information.51. Attach the User’s Information Manual pages
(supplied in the kit) into the vehicle owner’s guide.
