Installation of maximo 7.2

Under guidance of: Uday P Bhagavatula Start Date:22 dec,2010. 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. End date:22dec,2010. at 4:00 p.m.*time includes resolving of issues/exceptions.

Step1 : install middlewareStep2: install TSRMStep3: install service desk for TSRM

Precautions

Make sure that you have enough space, if you are short of space then keep your software file in one directory and install it in another directory.

In this installation we have kept our dump in C drive and gives the installation path to E drive.

Install your middleware and TSRM in same directory

Steps are as follows:

Go to this path C:\Maximo TSRM 7.2\TSRM7.2\TSRM_V720 and double click on launchpad.

Now click on install the product

Step 1

Installation of Middleware

Select language

Now it will ask for where you want to make the workplace place where you want to work…In our case as we our short of space we give the path to E drive as e:\ibm\tivoli\mwi\workspace

Now it will ask for undeploying the earlier plan……

Now it will show that what it will undeploy….

Now I have received these errors …..but click finish.

Delete the IBM folder from the drive where you have stored the TSRM folder in my case it is in Edrive…….

Now again start the middleware installation……as…..

It will again ask in deployment window that for restart the plan……

Select specify directory for path of middleware images……

Now specify the path….here it is in c: drive

Deploy it…..

As errors are coming I need to do it again…..Now do it again…..Now delete IBM folder from E drive where you have saved TSRM…..Now select according to the requirements……as those checkbox which you want to deploy…..

Select database server and J2EE server…..

These particular files will be deployed….

Now it will ask for password….common for all….

Now once authentication is done …..

1. Now it will deploy DB2 server….

2. Now it will deploy WAS…

3.Now it will deploy HTTP….server…..

Now he will require program images for further proceeding….copy the images if you are using compact disk and if the software/images are already saved then specify the path…..

Here the images are kept in C: drive…….

Now when all the plan has been made it will ask you to deploy it….

Now It is deploying it…………..

Now after the completion of this you can check that all the folders are available….

Now open the launch pad click on to the automation engine……..

Step 2 Installation of Base Services(TSRM)

Here it asking that where to install by default it is taking for C, but

We will change it for E:/……as in our c drive there is no space…..

Now asking for type of deployment……

Here we check the checkbox…Host name: IP of test serverUser id : a1143614 (olm id)Password: bharti@321

Now we have encountered an error…….

It was not able to find out the topology file……Actually what happens Topology file is created after the installation of middleware,Which means the creation of work space…..In our case we have install the middleware in C drive and we are installing TSRM in E drive therefore it is not able to locate the topology.exe file Now we will make the c drive share so that system can detect it and go further…

Install your middleware and TSRM in same directory……..

Here in the installation directory is the place where we are making our database and we have to make it E: as we do not have space in C

Now we change it….

Again space error is coming….Now we will do diskclean up

As for creating tables we don’t have space…….Then also there was no space so we have delete logbackup files And along with them we delete temp files also…..So now database for db2 has been made in c drive

INSTALLATION OF IBM WAS server

This processing will take few minutes you have to keep patience……

3. Installation for Service Desk(TSRM)

This process will take alot of time…..so please wait and watch…..

Now after completing the above process….

There was an error related to disk space ……

In last step all the changes will be deployed as maximo.ear file on the WAS server and if installation fails at this level then we can manually build the ear file on WAS server and deploy them.

Building of EAR file

Command to build the ear file is buildmaximoear.cmd

go toRuncmd give the path as….

Path given as E:\ibm\smp\maximo\deployment\default

At this location simply give the above command.

As now ear file has been build now you can deploy it.

Deployment of EAR file

go to servers you will find Application Server. click on application server there you will find Amex server… select it and down it now go to Enterprise Applications. there you will find the maximoEAR files you have options to install/uninstall/update….there you have to browse the path for the ear file where it is located…

During the deployment phase a temp file was creating , and this was going on automaticly and internally it takes the default path to C drive and temp is created in C drive only…..

Issues/Exceptions faced

1. During the undeployment of earlier plan(during middleware installation) it will give error, ignore it and click finish.

2. Now during the deployment it will ask the location for temp file to be created, specify the path where you will install TSRM and middleware.

3. Now during the installation of TSRM if you go for manual configuration then it will ask for the path of toplogy file i.e. key store file which is created after the installation of middleware.

Reason: If the directory of installation of middleware and TSRM are different then it will not accept it and will show the error.

Resolution: So make sure that installation drive for TSRM and middleware should be same.

4. Last error which i faced was for no disk space.

Reason: As earlier i have given the path for temp file to c: where have very few space.

Resolution: You clear some of your irrelevant files and continue.You can manualy build the ear file and deploy it on WAS server through console.
