INSTALLATION & COMMISSIONING GUDELINE FOR A1000 AC DRIVE
ESP:IA:INC:A1000:00… Dt. 28.09.10 1
**This procedure shall be used alongwith technical manual for A1000 drive.
Figure below illustrates how to configure drive & motor to operate with peripheral devices:
Note: For more detailed instructions on how to install each device, refer to the specific manual for that device.

Power Circuit Connections:
Refer to diagrams in this section when wiring the drive’s main circuit. Connections varies based on drive capacity. The DC power supply for the main circuit also provides power to the control circuit.
NOTE 1: Do not use the negative DC bus terminal “-” as a ground terminal. This terminal is at high DC voltage potential. Improper wiring connections could damage the drive.
NOTE2: Remove the jumper when installing a DC reactor for CIMR-AD4A0002 to CIMR-AD4A0044 models
Three Phase 400V Class (CIMR-AD4A0002 to CIMR-AD4A0044)

Removing the terminal cover of drives : CIMR-AD4A0002 to CIMR-AD4A0044 (IP20/NEMA Type 1 Enclosure Drives)
1. Loosen the terminal screw cover
2. Push in on the hook located on the bottom of the terminal cover & gently pull forward
3. Re-attaching terminal cover after wiring:

Removing the terminal cover of drives : CIMR-AD4A0058 to CIMR-AD4A0675 (IP00 Enclosure Drives)
1. Loosen the screws (do not completely remove the screws) CIMR-AD4A0208 to 675 has three screws on the top terminal cover :
2. Pull forward on terminal cover to free it from the drive:

Removing & reattaching the digital operator:
1. While pinching inwards on the hook located on the right side of the digital operator, pull forward and remove the operator from the drive.
2. Insert the digital operator into the opening in the front cover while aligning it with the notches on the left side of the opening. Next press gently on the right side of the operator until it clicks into place.
Removing the front cover from models CIMR-AD4A0002 to 4A0044:
After removing the terminal cover and the digital operator, loosen the screw that affixes the front cover (model CIMR-AD4A0031, 4A0038 do not use a screw to affix the front cover). Pinch inwards on hooks found on each side of the front cover, then pull forward to remove it from the drive:

Removing the front cover from models CIMR-AD4A0058 to 4A0675:
1. Remove the terminal cover and the digital operator. 2. Loosen the installation screw on the front cover. 3. Use a straight-edge screwdriver to loosen the hooks on each side of the cover that hold it in place.
4. First unhook the left side of the front cover, then swing the left side towards you as shown in the
figure below till the cover comes out. Reverse the instructions from 4 >> 1 to reattach the cover:

Removing top protective cover:
Insert the tip of a straight-edge screwdriver into the small openings located on the front edge of the top protective cover. Gently apply pressure as shown in the figure below to free the cover from the drive. Note: Removing the top protective cover from a IP20/NEMA Type 1 enclosure drive voids the NEMA Type 1 protection but still keeps IP20 conformity.
Reattaching the protective cover:
Align the small protruding hooks on the sides of the top protective cover with the corresponding mounting holes on the top of the drive. Pinch the hooks inward so that the they connect with the mounting holes and fasten the top protective cover back into place:

<1> The load must be decoupled from the motor to properly perform Rotational Auto-Tuning. <2> Rotational Auto-Tuning can still be performed if the load is 30% or less, though Stationary Auto-Tuning will probably yield better control performance. <3> Make sure the motor and load can run freely, i.e., if a brake is mounted, make sure it is released. <4> ASR Gain Tuning automatically performs Inertia Tuning and sets parameters related to Feed Forward and the KEB Ride-Thru function.

<1> Enter the motor code to E5-01 when using a Yaskawa PM motor (SMRA Series, SSR1 Series, and SST4 Series). If using a motor from another manufacturer, enter FFFF. <2> Make sure the motor and load can run freely, i.e., if a brake is mounted, make sure it is released. <3> ASR Gain Tuning automatically performs Inertia Tuning and sets parameters related to Feed Forward and the KEB Ride-Thru function. Note: The Z pulse must be realigned if the PG encoder is replaced. Set T2-01 to 3 to recalibrate the drive for the new encoder.
